What is Destination Imagination?
The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams will showcase their solutions at the regional tournament February 25, 2017.
Who can participate?
ALL students in grades K-12 are eligible to participate in Destination Imagination.
Parents: We NEED You!
Destination Imagination could not happen without the support of parents as team managers. Parents who volunteer to manage a team will serve as a coordinator and mentor as a team develops a unique solution to one of seven open-ended Challenges. You will observe as they reach past their limits and experience the creative process. You will then cheer them on at the regional tournament as they showcase all their hard work and help them celebrate their successes. It is a very rewarding experience.
If you are interested in managing a team, please come to Kick-off prepared to meet with interested students. We plan to form team rosters as soon as possible.
