Electronics at School
In an effort to sustain a positive learning environment, we strongly discourage students bringing any electronic items to school. If there is a need for students to bring any type of electronic items, including cell phones or smart watches, please review with your child the following rules:
- Cell phones and smart watches must stay in the backpack and turned off during the day.
- Cell phones can be turned on and smart watches can be put back on the wrist at the end of the school day in order to be used for after school care and activities.
- If electronic items are taken out during school or on school grounds, they will be taken and placed in the office. The items will be returned to a parent/guardian only.

Counselor Corner
Happy Thanksgiving Tigers! I hope each of you enjoy time with the ones you love this week celebrating Thanksgiving if that is a tradition in your household. I also hope you enjoy some rest and relaxation during the break. When we return we will move into a focus on the character trait of gratitude.
If you have any questions about the school counseling program at TCE, please don’t hesitate to reach out. My email is jschwarze@stanwood.wednet.edu and my extension at school is #2308.
THS Integrated Cognitive Therapies Program
Therapeutic Health Services Integrated Cognitive Therapies Program (ICTP) is planning their next round of Parent Coaching Groups.
This free 4-week workshop is open to caregivers of youth with mental health and substance use concerns. Families can expect to learn about the developing brain and why we need a different set of strategies when our teens are experiencing mental health challenges. We will also talk about skills to help develop healthy household rules, reduce conflict, build relationships, and maintain safety in the home.
Parents who are interested in this opportunity should fill out this form so that classes will be scheduled at convenient times for families.

Open House at Stanwood High and Church Creek Campus
With the pandemic, many in our community have not had the opportunity to see inside the new Stanwood High School and the Church Creek Campus, home to Lincoln Hill High School, Lincoln Academy and Saratoga School. We are so incredibly grateful to our community for its support of the 2017 bond that funded the construction of both campuses.
Both sites will hold an open house on Saturday, December 11. Following a brief opening ceremony at each campus, both buildings will be open for self-guided tours. Please join us and tour these new buildings.
Stanwood High School from 10:00-12:00
Church Creek Campus from 11:00-1:00
Join our District in Creating a Strategic Plan!
Our district has begun a comprehensive Strategic Planning process. The strategic plan acts as a roadmap for our school system. Its primary aim is to create a shared vision, common goals, and unified direction for our district’s educational efforts. Community-wide involvement is vital and we are designing the process in ways that will embrace the diverse voices of our district.
Families are asked to please complete a brief survey about you and your child’s experience in the Stanwood-Camano School District. The survey link is HERE. Students completed a similar survey over the past week. Please watch a brief video from Superintendent Rumbaugh describing the strategic planning process.
Community members are invited to serve as members of the five planning teams. The teams will include students, parents, community representatives, teachers, administrators, and staff. members of our School Board of Directors will be involved as well. If you are interested in joining one of the strategic planning teams, please complete a registration form here.
