Raymond Central Public Schools
May 2022
From the Desk of the Superintendent...
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We have less than two weeks left in the school year. We are grateful to all of you for trusting us with your children. We have enjoyed the opportunity to help them grow as learners and as young men and women. We appreciate all that you have done as parents/guardians to send us kids that are ready to learn and engage on a daily basis and we have appreciated your support of our schools and our staff as we near the end of this year’s journey. The next couple of weeks can be hectic so stay tuned to the weekly notices, daily announcements, and messages that are coming your way from the building principals and/or the teachers.
New Teachers/Profile of Senior’s – Follow Raymond Central on twitter and Facebook to meet the new teachers and to see the profiles of our graduating seniors.

Weather Alert Radio’s – The Lincoln-Lancaster County Emergency Management has provided us with 10 weather alert radios that we are to distribute to residents-in-need in our school area. These radios were made available by the Lincoln Community Foundation’s Volunteer Field of Interest-Emergency Preparedness Grant. If you are in need of such a device, please call my office at (402) 785-2615 or email me at lynn.johnson@rcentral.org to get on a recipient list.
School Breakfast and Lunch – We have been informed that lunches and breakfasts will NOT be free during the 2022-23 school year through the USDA’s SSO program. We urge all parents/guardians to complete the free and reduced application form as there are additional benefits to both the family and our district based on those qualifying applicants. The forms and explanatory letter can be accessed through our district website: www.rcentral.org under the PARENT tab.
BVH Architects – The board of education obtained the services of BVH architects to help them analyze our facility and educational needs into the future. The team will present a schedule and timeline to the board of education for this process at the regular May meeting. They are currently getting input from the staff in all three buildings. They have asked staff to identify the positive aspects of our facilities and the challenges of our facilities relative to meeting the needs of our learners and our extra-curricular program needs. The architects plan to engage our external stakeholders in August when school starts up again.
LAST STUDENT DAY--MAY 13th
