"The years teach much which the days never know."
Field Day - Monday, April 15th
- All students will be eating a bag lunch on Field Day. Please be sure to send a lunch and a drink to school unless you have ordered a lunch from the cafeteria. Lunches ordered from the cafeteria will be delivered to your child's homeroom class.
- Students must wear tennis shoes. Absolutely NO sandals or flip-flops will be allowed. Students will not be permitted to participate if they do not have appropriate shoes due to safety reasons.
- Students are permitted to bring hats, visors, sunscreen, water/Gatorade, and towels. These items are the students' responsibility.
- Concessions will be sold by the cafeteria. Students can use their lunch account or bring money to purchase concessions.
- Students in our Mr. Ross' class are asked to wear GRAY and Ms. Ellis' class is asked to wear RED. These are our team colors for the day.
- Field Day will take place from approximately 9:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m, with lunch from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
We are looking forward to a fun day!

Civil War in NC Virtual Field Trips
Also, due to scheduling last week my Block 1 class had a little extra time to work on their tours and finished them early, so they were also able to make videos of their tours! I thought they did a wonderful job! Here is a link: Civil War Virtual Tour Videos

What Will We Be Learning This Week?
Math
This week, we have covered the four types of angles: acute, obtuse, right and straight. We have also discussed parallel, perpendicular and intersecting lines. Next, students will identify these types of angles and lines in shapes. Students are also learning how to measure angles and draft angles given a specific measurement.
Science
Students enjoyed our virtual field trip to the Moon! We have discussed the 8 Phases of the Moon and are working to illustrate these phases. Please take the time to observe the moon and see if your child can identify its current phase. You can use the link below to assist!
Language Arts
While we are reading the book we will focus on text features, such as captions, charts, and headings, and cause and effect relationships.
