Keynote Address: Competitive Advantage, Business Models and Digital Higher Education
The shift to digital technology and media in higher education is slowly reconfiguring competitive dynamics in the sector. Dr. Keith Hampson will discuss how the design and organization of traditional higher education places significant limitations on these types of institutions to leverage technology, weakening their historical advantages. New business models – designed expressly for the digital format – are emerging that will drive down costs, improve quality, and offer new ways to establish competitive advantage.
Dr. Keith Hampson is a well-known analyst, writer and consultant for digital higher education. A former university faculty member, Keith later served as Director, Digital Education Strategies at Ryerson University. His blog, Higher Education Management, is read by influential professionals worldwide. Keith now consults for great organizations such as Bertelsmann AG, the Ontario Online Institute, Pearson Education, Flat World Knowledge, MySpark Technologies, Contact North, Canadore College, and the University of Toronto.
