A Gift for Your Pet

Animals naturally respond to the energy around them

Have you ever wondered whats going on in that little head of beloved Pet

Maybe you have an over anxious pet that won't settle.

  • Reiki works well with animals for the same reasons it works well on children and people of all ages. Have you ever noticed that when you pet an animal, he rolls over to receive more or looks at you with lovey-dovey eyes or sighs?eiki is ideal for use with animals because it is gentle and noninvasive.

  • They connect us with nature and spirit.

  • Reiki as a natural healing and balancing energy works wonderfully with animals as a tool for healing and stress reduction yes animals get stressed too.

  • Animals don't block, they let Reiki do the healing. So therefore it works wonderfully with them. It is gentle and noninvasive so there is no need to stress out an animal in order to treat them.

  • Reiki can also be done without hands on so if an animal is unable to be touched they can still be treated.

You can give Reiki to animals in the following situations:

  • When they are ill: Reiki helps the healing process and works with any type of medical intervention.

  • When they are young or old: You can use Reiki on an animal of any age or situation.

  • When they have been through a trauma: Animals can use loving energy after they've experienced any type of abuse, loss, or move, or if they seem to exhibit depression or other behavioral disorder. Even if you don't know what the problem is, you can use Reiki to help.

What is a animal Reiki experience like?

Because Reiki is about offering healing energy rather than doing a physical manipulation (as in acupressure) it may look as though the practitioner is simply meditating when they get started. They are actually creating a quiet healing space that the animal can choose to be part of.

One might imagine the energy radiating from the practitioner and the animal choosing how to interact with it, like sitting around a campfire. The animal may start far away from the practitioner at first, but they usually get closer, and may even push themselves into the practitioner’s hands, but if they don’t do that, don’t worry, it will still be effective.

It’s essential that the animal be allowed this freedom to accept Reiki as it desires. They may relax for five minutes then get up and walk around the room for a minute before settling again. They may yawn, lick, or nap. This is all a normal part of the process.

For you, during a Reiki session you can meditate and send your own healing thoughts, or quietly read a book. However you choose to be a part of the session it’s important to relax and let the Reiki be offered without worry or stress. You may want to interact with your pet, but this can distract them from the healing experience. Quiet background music may help everyone relax and focus. Your other pets may want to share in the Reiki energy, and that is fine too.

  • Pets, especially cats and dogs, will usually remain lying down during the Reiki session for as long as they need the healing. When they've had enough they usually will stand up or move away. Normally, 20 to 30 minutes is plenty for an animal
