Student-Parent-Teacher Confernces

When: December 8-12th from 1:30-4:30. We are on a minimum day schedule.

What:

We are pleased to announce that this year we will be doing student-led conferences. For those of you who may be new to this procedure, the student-led conference process further empowers the student to direct and report on his/her progress at school. It is a research-based practice used in many exemplary schools like KDA.

During the conference process students will report on academic progress, articulate goals, report on assessment data when appropriate, and share examples of their course work. We believe that the student-led conference process puts the responsibility for reporting learning where it needs to be and that is with the student. We thank you for working with them in this journey.

5th Grade Camping Trip May 2014

The 5th grade camping trip has long been a tradition for KDA students. The camp is led by us teachers and camp grounds staff. During the day, students rotate from station to station with activities like hiking, drama, nature art, and team building. In the evening students play games near the bonfire and spend the night in cabins on site. This trip is a wonderful memory and a rite of passage for our students.

We are hoping to raise at least $10,000 to cover transportation and camping fees. Our goal is to guarantee that all 5th graders get to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity. The cost for the campsite is $185 per student. We need your support with fundraising in order to meet our goal. Please feel free to contact us, if you would like to join our fundraising committee.
