Board Policy IHA: Grading

The Board believes that the most important assessment of student learning is conducted by the

teachers as they observe and evaluate students in the context of ongoing classroom activities. The

teacher has the responsibility for evaluating student progress and providing grades that represent

the student's academic achievement and level of mastery. Grading is not to be used for discipline

Grade chairs, please send your grade level's grading procedure to Ms. Martinez by the end of the week. For example, how many tasks are assessed per category.

On November 3, voters will have an opportunity to go to the polls. ESPLOST (Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) funds capital projects that support Gwinnett County Public Schools and Buford City Schools, such as building projects and technology retrofits. This ESPLOST is not a new 1-cent sales tax. It would continue the current 1-cent sales tax for 2017-2022. For more information, please go to our website and click on the link to learn more about ESPLOST.
