School 17 Project
Student Council School 17 Project
This year, Spry will again be collecting gifts for School 17, which is Webster's sister school in the city of Rochester. For most of these children, the holiday gift that they receive from us is the only gift they get.
We usually need to purchase approximately 175 gifts, and gift collection should begin sometime in early November. The list of needed items will be posted on Spry's webpage as well as in the Principal's Newsletter, once we start collecting items.
Spry's Student Council, along with several parent volunteers and other Webster schools, are all a part of this exciting project. Several students from Spry will participate in the delivery of gifts to School 17.
Thank you in advance for all of your help and support. Without you, this would not be possible! If you have any questions regarding this project, please feel free to contact Terri Rogers.

WEBSTER THOMAS EDUCATOR NAMED NYS MASTER TEACHER
Caroline Donovan, Webster Thomas High School math educator, has been selected as one of New York State’s Master Teachers by the State University of New York (SUNY). Donovan, who currently teaches Geometry Regents and Geometry Regents Enriched (and has previously taught many high school math courses through Pre-Calculus), has been a teacher for 16 years, the last four of which have been with Webster CSD.
According to SUNY, the Master Teacher Program creates a statewide network of STEM teachers dedicated to sharing their expertise with peers and attracting high school graduates to STEM careers. Donovan is one of 214 new educators added to the Master Teacher program this year, bringing the network’s statewide total to 908 teachers. Selected teachers receive $15,000 stipends annually over their four-year participation in the program. They will also get peer mentoring and professional development opportunities, as well as attend regional meetings with their peers, in addition to their regular school responsibilities.
Congratulations to Mrs. Donovan on her exemplary teaching and this outstanding honor!
