COVID Mitigations and Communication
As we all know, the Omnicron variant has brought additional COVID infections throughout our communities. While the CDC and IDPH have altered their required isolation period from ten days to five days, as of right now, school guidance has not changed. We encourage families to continue to be diligent with safety precautions and testing. It is important to stay home if you are symptomatic and to get tested before returning to stop the spread of COVID-19. Also note that we will be re-emphasizing the proper wearing of masks throughout our building. Students are expected to bring their own masks and wear them properly while in the building.
Building-wide Expectations
While students at OHS have been doing a great job overall, we have noticed that some are taking a more relaxed approach to being on time and wandering through the halls during unauthorized times. We would like to remind all students that they should be in class when the final bell rings. School starts at 7:15am so make sure you are on time to 1st period every day.

In addition, the month recognizes the central role of Black Americans in history.

Grounding is an effective way to calm anxiety. In this process, you identify objects around you to help your brain recognize where you are. This creates a sense of comfort because you know where you are and you feel more in control of the situation
