SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
We are committed to protecting our children and youth in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

Attend Safe Environment training. The calendar may be found at this site: https://nolacatholic.org/safe-environment Choose the date that works for you, but there will be a local presentation on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14 6:30 - 8:00 PM IN THE PJP CAFETERIA. No pre-registration or phone calls are necessary. Just show up and sign in with your name and the name of your parish/school when you arrive. Please be sure to check the calendar the day of the training – changes will be reflected there.

Safe Environment training and background check must be repeated every three years.
We encourage all our parents to attend the Safe Environment Training, especially if those who would like to volunteer in any capacity at SMM. Background checks may not be required in all situations. For example, if you would like to chaperone a group of students on a field trip, you must have the training, but not a background check. If you wish to coach a team at SMM, you must go through the entire process. So, please take advantage of the upcoming class at PJP if you think you may want to involved in SMM activities.

Slidell Magnificat Breakfast Speaker is Our Very Own Shelia Ganucheau
Ladies, make sure to join us for the back-to-school edition of Magnificat when wife, mom and local early childhood educator, Sheila Ganucheau, teaches us How to Stay Childlike in a Grown-up World, Saturday, August 24, 2019, 9 a.m. – noon (doors open at 8:30 a.m.), at Pinewood Plantation, 405 Country Club Blvd. in Slidell.
“Having been around young children as a Catholic school teacher for 26 years, I’ve learned from them what it takes to be childlike in my relationship with God: obedience, trust, awe, wonder, curiosity and knowing that we are wonderfully made! I always tell my children, no matter how many ‘whoopsidoodles’ you make, God will never stop loving you!”
Be there as Sheila shares the story of her faith journey, her “whoopsidoodles” in life and her tremendous love of the traditions and sacraments of the Catholic Church. Tickets are $20 and include a delicious breakfast. Tickets are available online until the morning of the event at www.Eventbrite.com, and until August 23rd at Angels of Peace Gifts, St. Margaret Mary Church in Slidell and St. John of the Cross Church in Lacombe.
