Whirlwind Centennial wind orchestra tour!
The Centennial Wind Orchestra spent their spring break on a concert tour of Ireland. The nine-day tour of the Emerald Isle included travels of famous sights and sounds: Clonmacnoise, a monastic settlement founded by St. Ciaran in 545 AD; traditional Irish music and Irish dance instruction by the Tommy Hayes ensemble; local city tours in Galway and Cork; a sheepdog demonstration at Caherconnell Fort; the iconic Cliffs of Moher; the Burren National Park; a driving tour of the Ring of Kerry – amazing views around the Lakes of Killarney; Blarney Castle – where many ‘kissed the Blarney Stone’ to receive the gift of eloquence; the Rock of Cashel; and while in Dublin - Trinity College; St. Patrick’s Cathedral; the Epic Irish Emigrations Museum; and more traditional Irish Music & Dancing by the Merry Ploughboys. Click on the photo for a clip of the performance at Galway Cathedral. Photo, Rehearsal at Galway Cathedral.
