Clothing and Photography Entries this Saturday!

Saturday, July 20th is entry day for clothing and photography items. These items include 4-H Fashion Show, Clothing, Knitting, Crocheting, Shopping in Style & Photography. Entries need to be taken to Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. There will be optional interview judging on a first come first serve basis.

Fair Clean Up

Saturday, July 20th, 8am

Otoe County Fairgrounds

Clean up will start at 8:00 a.m. at the Otoe County Fairgrounds, and will go until done. Rolls will be provided by the Otoe County Ag Society.

4-H Arm Bands

4-H Arm Bands are available at the Extension Office for those showing horses. They are $2.67.

Cattle Tie-Outs

The Beef have a designated tie-out area. Use of the tie-outs is on a first come first serve basis. You may bring panels. The designated tie-out area is the ONLY area allowed for tie-outs. Tie-outs can be used from after 5:00 p.m. to before 8:30 a.m. All animals should be in their stalls or pens between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.except for weighing, washing and showing.

Clover Kid Bucket Calves

Important reminder- Bucket Calves must be no more than six months of age and weigh no more than 350 pounds.

Bedding Fees

If you are showing cattle please stop in the Extension Office and pay for your bedding fees for the fair. All beef animals will be charged $10.00/head, except stocker feeders & bucket calves are $5.00/head. There will be no refunds for animals that do not come to the fair

Otoe County 4-H Council's Split the Pot

The Otoe County 4-H Council is hosting a "Split the Pot" on Friday, July 26, at the Rodeo Rose Production on the Otoe County Fairgrounds. Tickets will go on sale at 6:00 p.m. with the winning ticket drawn during intermission. Ticket prices are $1.00 for one ticket or $5.00 for six tickets. The winner will receive half of the proceeds from the sale of the tickets that evening!

$2.00 Coupons!

The Otoe County Farm Bureau is providing a $2.00 coupon for every 4-H member during the 2019 Otoe County Fair. The coupons can be picked up by the 4-H members at the Extension Office during the fair. These coupons are good for $2.00 worth of food or drink at the former Otoe County 4-H Council Food Stand, now operated solely by Penny Trueblood.

Nebraska 4-H Foundation Flood Relief Fund

The Nebraska 4-H Foundation has created a Flood Relief Fund to support children, youth and families impacted by the recent storms and floods.

There is another fund that may be of interest to your 4-H families and friends. The 4-H’ers Helping 4-H’ers Fund offers a giving opportunity to 4-H clubs and councils as well as individuals and businesses to support 4-H youth and families.
