A Guide for Kids and Parents
KiDS
If you wouldn't wear it dont share it!
Do not post any personal information like your name, phone number, passwords and address.
Be a good sport!
Be nice to others when online. Report any bullying.You can always repot internet crime a parent or an adult. Adults and children may also go to the nearest police department!
Think before you post!
Everything you post and view online or in text messages are saved forever.
PaRENTS
Monitor
Know what information your kids are sharing online and with who they are sharing it with. Through instant messaging, social networks, chat rooms or network games and children’s e-mail accounts .
Block
Teach your children the importance of self image. That everything put online is never deleted if posted or viewed. Make sure to use Parental block settings for children viewing materials unwanted.
Talk
Inform your kids that personal safety is a priority. There may be people you meet online pretending to be someone they are not. Do not do anything with someone online that asks you to, especially when you know it is something your parents would not approve.
