Together We: Learn, Grow, Lead
Grange Hall Families,
As you are now aware, CCPS will be closed through at least Friday, March 27. Our goal is to keep our students engaged in thinking and learning. Please refer to the information below to help guide you through these two weeks. I will continue to keep you informed as we navigate this together.
Hours of Operation
The school will open from 8 am – 1 pm for March 16th through March 20th for parents to pick up instructional supplies (electronic copies of supplies are included in this e-mail). Mrs. Jones, Mr. Ondrish, and Mrs. Lawrence (our office manager) will be working at Grange Hall and answering phones during that time.
Instruction
Teachers have worked hard to prepare “Distance Learning” activities for your children to keep them engaged in thinking and learning over the next two weeks. Please click on the links: Distance Learning & School-wide Learning to access specific activities for each grade level. If you would like a hard copy of the activities, you can come to Grange Hall between 8 am and 1 pm from March 16th through March 20th.
Our special education teachers have all prepared packets for their students. We have hard copies labeled with student names and the materials will be sent to you electronically by your child’s case manager.
Food
Chesterfield County Public Schools will provide free meals to students while the school division is closed during the next two weeks due to COVID-19. Meals are for children ages 18 and younger, and will be available for pickup at a Food Services kiosk located outside of the school. The attached chart provides school and community locations at which food is available and the hours of service. This program provides lunch for that particular day (Monday-Friday) and breakfast for the next morning. Meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. In accordance with federal civil rights law and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s civil rights regulations and policies, institutions participating in USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, religious creed, disability, age, political beliefs or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by the USDA. Kindergarten Online Registration is OPEN!
If you are a family of a rising kindergarten student or know of a family who will be sending a child to kindergarten during the 2020-21 school year, it’s time to start thinking about kindergarten registration.
Great news! We’ve got an opportunity to save some time on April 16, which is Kindergarten Registration Day at every elementary school in Chesterfield County.
Visit https://mychesterfieldschools.com/family-and-community-engagement/preparing-for-school/student-registration/kindergarten-registration/ and preregister for kindergarten today. Doing so should cut in half any wait time on Kindergarten Registration Day.
Please remember to share this message with any family you know who has a rising kindergarten student!
