Tex-Mex cuisine is a fusion of American and Mexican cuisine.

Where is Tex-Mex popular?

Tex-Mex is popular in southwestern USA mainly in the states of:

  • Arizona
  • New Mexico
  • Colorado
  • Utah

The Southwest

The southwest has a very hot climate. They are close to Mexico, which is where the Mexican influence on the food comes from. Most of the states here were territories claimed from Mexico in the mid 1800's. Some popular attractions here are the Alamo, the Houston Space Center and Six Flags Amusement park.
