Faith Alliance Church
Connection Point Newsletter
November 23, 2022
Greetings from Pastor John
Hope you are having a great Thanksgiving week! Not to rush us into Advent but this Sunday does mark our first Advent celebration. We have a lot going on. Check out the Newsletter for the schedule. But we will be taking three weeks in Advent to look at the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. For the next three weeks we will be seeing a character study for each Biblical character. We will start this week off with Jesus. I’ll be looking at the character of Jesus through Colossians 1. We will also be celebrating the Advent candle lighting each week with different families from our church.
Looking forward to celebrating Advent with Faith Alliance Church!

Family Discussion Starters:
•What mistake did Saul make twice in a row?
•Does God care more about obedience or sacrifice?
•Who always perfectly obeys and trusts God?
Because Christ has provided us with the example of obedience to God at all costs, we live as if our lives are not our own, willing to lay everything down for the sake of God’s kingdom
• HEAD: How do you need to think differently about your sin and obedience in light of Saul’s failure?
• HEART: What sins of rebellion and idolatry are competing with your desire to obey the Lord? Confess and repent to the Lord in prayer today.
• HANDS: What are some ways you will obey the Word of God today?
