PreK-5 Fall Planning PD
Elementary Teaching & Learning
Layers of Professional Development:
As we plan for the uncertainties of the 2020-21 school year, Teaching and Learning has designed the following PD opportunities that will serve as an instructional design guide to support you and your PLC. At any time a district, school, and/or classroom may need to pivot from in-person, hybrid, or distance learning depending on the health and safety needs of our community. As a result, we will need to be ready for whatever the public health situation may require.
Foundation Layer of PD-Design of Learning Playbook Schoology Course
The On-Demand Schoology course, Design of Learning Playbook, will provide an overview of best practice teaching approaches, course structure/design, PLC considerations, accelerating interrupted learning, and community building & engagement strategies. It includes interactive discussions, and protocols that you will find useful as you map out the school year.
This course is best completed in collaboration with your PLC, but can be completed independently. Completing as a team allows your PLC to collaboratively engage in the learning, reflect and plan and prepare for the upcoming school year together. Each part/module is broken down into key components, where you will see time allotments for each of the modules. This allows you and your team to pace your learning.
Please note we have estimated 3.5 hours of content with 3.5 hours of collaborative PLC reflection, planning and preparation for a total of 7 CEU hours. You and your team may move more quickly or more slowly based on your needs. Please know that this self-paced course will be available to you throughout the year.
To successfully complete this course you must finish all learning tasks within each of the folders that represent the parts below. Upon completion of this course, you will be awarded 7 CEUs. Estimated course and PLC time = 7 hours.
