SUMMER READING CHALLENGE
It’s time for another Summer Reading Challenge! United Way has partnered with Brevard Public Schools to keep students reading this summer. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will be coming home with a summer reading pledge sheet given to them in Media indicating how many books they will read this summer, and a reading log postcard in their report card envelope, which they can record the books they read over the summer.
The goal for incoming K-2nd grade students is to read 10 books, and for incoming 3rd-6th graders is to read 8 multi-chapter books. If students complete the challenge and turn their logs in by August 18th, they will get to come to an ice cream party provided by United Way in September or October. We would like all reading logs - regardless if students complete the challenge - to be turned in next school year. If we get 120 reading logs, Mrs. Erenstoft, Mrs. Herman, and Mrs. Oehlmann will kiss a pig next school year! Students can participate in the reading challenge this year by completing the traditional log, by reading on Sora (found on student’s BPS Launchpad), or by submitting their list digitally (at one time, once per student) at https://forms.gle/hoYhaLNKsaVnrytF7.
We hope that all students read over the summer! Thank you for your support!
