Affordable Connectivity Program

The FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) allows qualifying households to reduce their internet costs by up to $30/month ($75/month on Tribal lands). is a simple, easy-to-use website with details on how households can sign up for ACP and find participating providers in their area. Several companies additionally committed to offer ACP-eligible families at least one high-speed plan for $30/month or less, with no additional fees and no data caps. This mean that if households apply their ACP benefit to one of these plans, they would have no out-of-pocket cost for internet. For more information visit

Student Engagement!

Ms. Duncan's and Ms. Hambrick's Class

Students went shopping at a grocery store as part of a Community Based Instruction Trip! They looked for the price, comparing prices and deciding which item to grab. They also did a great job at paying for their own item at the cash register and waiting patiently for their change.

8th Grade STEM

STEM students became industrial engineers. First, they learned about the career field. Next they learned why assembly lines are an efficient way to get tasks completed by assembling snack bags in a given amount of time. Lastly, they had to create a gravity powered device that could separate 25 big marbles from 25 small marbles, that were all poured at the same time. Pictured is the only device that was 100% accurate!!!

7th Grade Science

Students went to Cellbucks to practice their organelle analogies before they start on their cell analogy project. Students in the next few days will be asked to come up with a location like a school, mall, restaurant or stadium and compare the components of those places to the cell organelles.

7th Grade Math

Simplifying Expressions Scavenger Hunt: Students were split into two groups. One group completed the Monster Scavenger Hunt, their correct answer led them to the next question. The other group worked on the Mathematician Scavenger Hunt, which involved more complex problems and their correct answer led them to the next problem. Students formed smaller group within their groups to aid each other and teach the skill.

Cell Phone and Smartwatch Use

Cell phones may not be used during the instructional day and must be turned off and put away in their backpacks at all times. Students are permitted to use the designated student phone located in the front office during school hours for emergencies or for illness. Students should not use a cell phone or smartwatch to call home or text when sick. Any student who is ill should go through the health clinic. The school nurse will call parents directly. Calling home for homework, a school project, or to make arrangements to attend an after school event that wasn't previously arranged is not permitted. Students may call home if:

  1. There is a transportation issue,

  2. Lunch or lunch money is needed,

  3. There is a dress code issue.

  4. The student is sick or needs medication (must call from the clinic under the nurse's supervision).

We appreciate your support of this policy so we can minimize interruptions to learning.
