Pine Island Parent Press

October 2019

From the Principal's Desk....

WOW! What a fantastic start to our year!! We have had so many amazing things happening here at Pine Island that I look forward to what the next few months will bring! Also, our students have really stepped up to all of the leadership jobs that we have going on right now-- and they are really helping our school run smoothly!

- Mrs. Stacy Reehl

We have been talking a lot about our BULLY FREE SCHOOL here at Pine Island. Awareness is a key component of this and making sure the students understand what they need to do in any situation. Each classroom is taking and signing a pledge to be a BULLY FREE classroom and school!

Conferences will be taking place on the following days:

Tuesday- October 22 4:30-8pm

Thursday-October 24 4-7:30pm

We will be using Sign Up Genius again for scheduling.

Halloween is a festive time and we want our students to enjoy the day and evening. We ask that when you prepare your child’s costume, please do not create a costume that glorifies violence. Weapons such as guns, knives, swords, etc. will not be allowed at school. Choose a Halloween costume that can be enjoyed by all. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.Also- if you plan on attending your child's party- please make sure you have a volunteer form on file AND you have let your child's teacher know you plan to attend. All visitors are welcome to come and watch the parade in our gym.

Pumpkin Patch

Students can bring in pumpkins the week of October 28. Pumpkins can be dropped off during school hours. The pumpkins will help turn our library into a pumpkin patch. We can’t wait to see all the cool ideas! JUDGING will be on Thursday, OCT 31. You may pick up the pumpkins at the end of the day on Thursday- Oct 31. Happy Carving!

Pumpkins will then be judged according to the following categories:

*Best Smallest *Judges Choice *Scariest *Most Original *Funniest *Best Largest
