Mrs. Duncan's Second Grade
August 29th through September 2nd
Homework
Again this week, students will have two pages of math homework. They are also expected to be reading and filling out their reading logs. Please help your child to get this homework completed and returned to school. Those students needing an additional challenge can log on to the SPS website and go to Canvas. Your child will enter the student number for the login. The password is the first name initial then last name initial and then the student number. This will take your child to the Dreambox (math) and Lexia (reading) programs. I will be able to monitor at home usage. It is not required, but will really help in developing your child's skills.
Kiara and Journey
The girls enjoy Neighborhood Night Out.
Savannah and Angel
The girls enjoy learning to play Clockominoes.
Jayvahn and Zak

Neighborhood Night Out
The turnout for this event was phenomenal. Over 500 people attended! It was great to see so many of you there!
Daily Folders
Students are doing a great job of getting the daily folders home and then back to school each day! Thank you for checking them each night. Remember, if your child has earned a green card that day, the calendar will not be marked. Yellow, blue, and red cards will be marked on the calendar.

Field Trip Policy
This week we have a field trip on Thursday. Please be aware that if your child has earned a red card on the week of a field trip, he or she will stay at school with another teacher during the trip. Also, all homework must be completed in order for second graders to attend field trips. Finally, each child must have a completed field trip permission slip turned in by the morning of the trip. Phone calls to get verbal permission are no longer allowed.
