The Trailside Twister
May 2019
Principal's Corner
May has arrived and warmer temperatures are following right behind! As I say every year, this year has gone by so quickly and with May being such an eventful month, the end of the school year will be here before we know it. We have field trips, concerts, the carnival, and end of the year celebrations. For our sixth grade families, we will have our annual memory walk on the last day of school, June 6th. Our sixth grade students will march through the wings of Trailside reminiscing about their journey the past seven years. Families are welcome to come and walk out with their 6th grader for the last time as a Twister.
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and I would like to thank the Trailside PTO and families for supporting our amazing staff here at Trailside!
Thank you,
Jim Dembosky

Red Wing Twisters
Fruit Loops made the perfect, delicious "tool" to use to make words with the "oo" sound. First grader approved!
First graders got practice explaining their math thinking to their classmates using a document camera, which helped showcase their thinking on the Smart Board.
After much modeling and practice, peer editing is in full swing in second grade! The students are doing an exceptional job helping each other make their writing the best it can be.

What is your favorite summer past-time?
I love to be outside! Swimming, hiking, reading in my hammock, enjoying campfires- all of it is something I look forward to all winter long!
If you could be a character inside a movie or book who would you choose and why?
I love to read suspense novels, however that is not the type of book you'd like to experience first hand. I'd have to choose something fun that my daughters read or watch. Being a character in a cartoon, like a My Little Pony sounds like it would be a blast!
What is your favorite part about teaching at Trailside?
There is so much to enjoy. I love the community, the kids, the teaching staff... I'm at the point where I'm teaching my classmates' children, which is really neat. It is really inspiring and motivating to see the kids grow from Kindergartners up to 6th graders. Lastly the staff is unbeatable! I like their presence so much that I married one of them!
Jennifer Lindner - Math Intervention
I am one lucky lady! I have been married for 28 years to a wonderful guy, I have 3 awesome kids (ages 23, 20, and 16), 2 sassy dogs, and a job that I love.
What is your favorite summer past-time?
I enjoy the warmer temperatures which allow me to go walking, play tennis, go boating, golf, swim, and kick back so I can read.
If you could be a character in a book or movie who would you be and why?
I would like to be any character that likes to solve mysteries. I am always thinking and trying to solve puzzles, problems, crime dramas, etc. My kids will tell you that they were never allowed to get away with anything :)!
What is your favorite thing about teaching at Trailside?
EVERYTHING! I love the students and the staff here at Trailside. It is such a warm and inviting building. The Trailside community really makes coming to work quite easy!
