Is your vision to develop your talents as an artist or performer? Converse School of the Arts (SOA) may be the answer to your quest. High school seniors are invited to compete for talent based scholarships in Art, Dance, Music, Musical Theatre and Theatre. To be admitted in to the Petrie School of Music, auditions are required.

The American Legion "A Constitutional Speech Contest" Scholarship

"A Constitutional Speech Contest" is for students presently enrolled in grades nine through twelve in a high school program. The purpose of The American Legion's Oratorical Constitutional Speech Contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States. State finalist have the chance to earn a $2,000 scholarship with the winner going to our National contest and a chance to win an $18,000 scholarship. Elks Most Valuable Scholarship- $50,000

Marian Garrett Student Scholarship

SCAEOP presents an annual scholarship of $1000 to a deserving high school student planning to pursue a college degree in the business field. We have helped with the educational process of many South Carolina college bound students. The rising cost of tuition at many of our colleges places a hardship on many families. We strive each year to help ease the economic burden for a deserving student. Scholarship deadline is December 1, 2016. The application website and more information is attached below.

South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program:

Teaching Fellows receive up to $24,000, in yearly scholarships (up to $6000 a year for four years) while they complete a degree leading to teacher licensure. A Fellow agrees to teach in South Carolina one year for every year he or she receives the Fellowship. The Identification process for this award requires an application then an interview/presentation and a writing sample.

Francis Marion University's McNair Scholars Program:

The McNair scholarships cover tuition, fees, and room and board. The McNair Scholars will be apart of the FMU Honors Program, which provides the University's highest-performing students with a unique curriculum that includes experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom. In addition, during the freshman year, the McNair Scholars will have the opportunity to travel abroad during Spring Break. The application deadline for the McNair Scholarship is Thursday, December 1, 2016. Students not chosen for the McNair Scholarship will be considered for other FMU scholarships.


Eligibility:

  • be a high school senior with 1100 or higher (Reading & Math combined) on the SAT or a composite score of 24 or higher on the ACT
  • have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • have an interest in a career in public service, broadly defined and
  • be willing to commit to study abroad and service learning opportunities at FMU.

Barbara Lotze Scholarships for Future Teachers- $2,000

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must;


  • Be a high school senior planning to pursue a career in teaching physics in high school
  • Be a citizen of the US

National Space Club Scholarship- $10,000

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must;


  • Be a senior in high school
  • Have the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accredited US College or University to follow a course of student to pursue a career in the STEM field, with a preference for those with space related interest
  • The applicant can only use the $10,000 scholarship towards tuition for the 2017-2018 academic year

Clemson University's Lyceum Scholars Program:

Open to incoming freshmen, the curriculum develops students' faculties of inquiry and ignites their passion for knowledge. Those interested in becoming Lyceum Scholars should apply in their senior year of high school to Clemson University and to the Lyceum Scholars Program. Academic Program consist of an eight course sequence with one Lyceum course each semester. All Lyceum Scholars receive $10,000 scholarship, which is disbursed over their 4 years at Clemson University. The deadline to apply for Lyceum Scholars is December 8th. Carson Scholars Program 2017

Our scholarship program is open to students in grades 4 through 11 who have at least a 3.75 GPA (for the current school year) and are involved in community service. Schools are only allowed to nominate one student for the $1,000 college scholarship. If interested, students need to submit an essay (see requirements below) to Ms. McBride, in Guidance, no later than December 12, 2016. Students must turn in an essay meeting the requirements on the button below to be considered for nomination.This allows time to provide a proper recommendation.


Here is an overview of the entire online process:


  1. The school nominates a student and completes the online nomination form. Deadline:December 12, 2016. Within 24 hours of nomination approval, the student will receive an email with a link to the online application.
  2. The nominated student completes the online application. The application includes submission of an essay, report card, biographical information, community service details and (online) teacher recommendation. Deadline: Friday, January 6, 2017.
  3. The principal receives an email on January 10, 2017 asking him/her to verify that the nominee's application has been completed honestly. Deadline: Friday, January 13, 2017.Principals cannot be sent verification information until after the application has closed.

Points Scholarships- $10,000

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  • At least 13 years old and enrolled or will enroll in a college or University in the US
  • A legal resident of the US or Puerto Rico

SC Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship Program

The South Carolina Junior Golf Foundations offers scholarship aid to deserving students who meet certain academic criteria. The following guidelines have been established for eligibility for this scholarship.

Applicants must;

  • Be seniors in a SC High school OR undergraduates in a SC college or university
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale through the spring 2016 semester
  • Be residents of SC
  • Have a competitive or recreational interest in golf
  • Recipients must attend an accredited public or private, four year college or university located in Sc in the fall 2017


Students will be able to submit their application via online at this website beginning November 1, 2016. The deadline for all materials and application to be received is December 31, 2016.

January Deadlines:

Kittie Moss Fairy Educational Fund Scholarship

The scholarship provides aid to deserving students who meet certain academic and financial criteria. Students may apply for this scholarship online at the website. The following guidelines have been established for eligibility for a Kittie M. Fairey Scholarship:


  • Applicants must be high school seniors enrolled in a SC High School
  • Must be a SC residents
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale through Spring 2016 semester
  • Must have a composite ACT score of 26
  • Applicant's parents must have a household adjusted gross income not exceeding $40,000
  • Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited, four-year college or University located in South Carolina



The deadline for submission of the application online is January 2, 2017. All materials must be received by January 2, 2017. All materials must be in one envelope with the exception of the online application.

Erskine Presidential Scholarships

Applications for Erskine Presidential Scholarships are now open and will be accepted through January 6, 2017. The Erskine Presidential Scholarship selection committee will chose five highly motivated and creative individuals whose activities reflect qualities of leadership and service in their respective schools, churches, and communities. Omicron Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship

Alpha Delta Kappa is an International Honorary sorority for women educators. Each Year the Omicron Chapter gives two scholarships (minimum $750) to students who are planning to enter the field of education. The deadline to submit the application is January 15, 2017. The application is attached below with the requirements to apply or students can pick up an application outside of Ms. McBride's office.

School of the Art Institute of Chicago Merit Scholarships

Undergraduate Merit Scholarships

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) awards merit scholarships to students who demonstrate exceptional levels of thoughtfulness, skill, conceptual capabilities, and academic groundedness. Scholarships are financial awards that do not need to be repaid. The deadline is January 15, 2017.

SAIC annually awards a substantial number of undergraduate, merit-based scholarships to new students. All students are automatically considered for a Merit Scholarship, which range from $2,000 to $25,000 annually, upon admission to SAIC and submitting their portfolios to us electronically. Recipients are selected through a holistic review of each student's academic history—including test scores and transcripts, portfolio, artist's statement, and letter of recommendation.

2017 NAFEPA Scholarship Program

On behalf of the NAFEPA organization, we are excited to offer four scholarship opportunities to students in your schools. The scholarship offerings are in honor of four NAFEPA members who have provided our Association with valuable leadership, having given time and talents to move our Association forward as a professional organization.


Students are eligible to apply if they are currently in their senior year of high school and presently enrolled in a public or charter school or school district served by NAFEPA members, or if they are students currently enrolled as freshmen in an accredited college or university.


Two scholarships will be awarded to students who are pursuing degrees in Education. Two scholarships may be awarded for pursuit in Education or any other major.

King's College Scholarship

King's College is the first independent college of business established in North Carolina. King's is located in Charlotte's central business district. King's College offers specialized education in Health Care, Business, Design and Technology. You can graduate in 8 to 16 months. National Beta Scholarship Program

National Beta will award over $300,000 in scholarships with awards ranging from $1,000 to $15,000 to outstanding 12th grade Beta Members. Application open: November 1, 2016. Harry Hampton Fund Scholarships

1. Harry Hampton Scholarship for students in the natural resources disciplines of wildlife biology, fisheries biology, forestry, marine or environmental science. Four years; $5,000 per year.


2. Wallace F. Pate Scholarship for students in the natural resources disciplines of wildlife biology, fisheries biology, forestry, marine or environmental science. One year; $2,500.

-Natural resource students may apply for the Hampton and Pate scholarships together on one application but are eligible to be awarded only one.


3. David M. Cline Scholarship for students who wish to further education in law enforcement/criminal justice/forensic science. One year; $2,000.


4. James O Thomason Scholarship for students who wish to further their education in print or photo journalism, advertising, public relations or mass communications. This scholarship requires the student to submit a topical essay (see criteria and application). Four years; $2,000 per year.

February Deadlines:

2017 Journalism Contest by the Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities

Enter the 2017 Journalism Contest by writing a 3-page article on the benefits of hiring people with disabilities. This year's contest them is "#Inclusion Works". The contest winner receives a four-year scholarship to the SC state-supported institution of his/her choice. The scholarship pays for undergraduate tuition and fees.


To enter, you must be a SC resident aged 16-19 years old and a senior in high school. You do not have to have a disability. Entries must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2017. For complete rules and eligibility requirements, visit the website.

James F. Byrnes Scholarship

To be eligible for the James F. Byrnes Foundation Scholarship, a student must meet the following qualifications:

  • have one or both parents deceased
  • be a United States citizen and a South Carolina resident
  • have need of financial assistance to attend college
  • be a current senior in high school
  • have a satisfactory academic record
  • plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university

Recipients have the following obligations to the James F. Byrnes Foundation.

  • They must maintain a 2.0 GPA and send semester grades to the Foundation office after each semester is complete.
  • Each year, recipients must participate in the following activities:
    • Byrnes Scholars’ Luncheon in Columbia on the second Saturday in June
    • Super Weekend in Garden City Beach, SC, the third weekend of March
    • Fall Dinner in his/her area held in October – dates to be determined


Applications must be submitted and postmarked no earlier than January 2, 2017, and postmarked by February 1, 2017. Applications postmarked before or after the application period will not be accepted. Virginia Military Institute Scholars

VMI Scholars can receive awards from $5,000 per academic year up to and including the full cost of tuition and fees.

Eligibility:

  • Combined SAT 1350 (Critical Reading & Math) or
  • ACT 31
  • High School GPA: 3.7 (unweighted)

To be considered for the scholarship, the following material must be received no later than February 1, 2017:

  • A complete application for admission to VMI
  • A complete scholarship application
  • A resume
  • Two Short essays
  • An official copy of high school transcript


Zonta Scholarship

The Zonta Club of Columbia, a chapter of Zonta International, is seeking to award a $1,500 scholarship to a pre-college (age 16-19) female student. This young woman should exhibit commitment to the volunteer sector as well as exhibit evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and good academic achievement. The purpose is to encourage more female students to enter careers in public affairs, public policy and community organizations. Eligibility requirements are listed in the application below. The completed application should be mailed by February 1, 2017.

Archibald Rutledge Scholarship Program

This annual program offers public school twelfth-grade students the opportunity to compete for a scholarship worth approximately $2,000 in creative writing, dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. The purpose of the competition is to encourage and recognize academic and artistic excellence.

Applicants may participate in one of the following discipline areas: creative writing, dance, music, theatre, or visual arts. To compete, students should submit one original composition and a process folio for the visual arts area and an original and two copies of the original composition and process folio for the creative writing, dance, music, or theatre categories. Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. or postmarked on or before Monday, February 6, 2017. Only 3 entries will be allowed from Airport High School. See Ms. McBride for details and application.

2017 Savannah Rive Nuclear Solutions Family Scholarship:

Fifteen $3,000 Savannah Rive Nuclear Solutions Family Scholarships will be awarded in 2017. The scholarships are open to sons and daughters of active full service employees of SRNS who are in their last year in public, private or home schools. For information about eligibility and other additional requirements visit the packet below. If qualified, download the application and complete all the steps by February 6, 2017. National CO-OP Scholarship Program

This year the National Co-Op Scholarship Program will award 175 merit scholarships totaling $4.5 Million. The eligibility requirements are listed below.



  • Students must be applying to one of these ten institutions for the 2017-2018 academic year; Clarkson University, Drexel University, Johnson & Wales University, Merrimack College, Rochester Institute of Technology, State University of New York Oswego, The University of Toledo, The University of Cincinnati, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Wentworth Institue of Technology.

Military Commanders' Scholarship Fund

Deadline: February 17, 2017

The New York Chapter of the American Logistics Association sponsors up to 15 $5,000 scholarships for dependent children of active duty, reserve, National Guard or retired members of the United States military who hold valid Exchange & Commissary shopping privileges at the time of application. Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll for the first time in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the fall. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. 2017 Collision Repair Education Foundation Scholarship

I wanted to let you know our 2017 collision student scholarships/tool grants are available! A press release and copy of a recent poster sent to the school is attached. The due date is February 21st.

Lucretia M. Cayruth Scholarship Application

The Lucretia M. Cayruth Scholarship of The American Business Women's Association Midlands Chapter was established to help individuals achieve their business or professional goals through education.


Eligibility Requirements:

3. Maintaining a 2.5 cumulative GPA on the 4.0 scale

Sandy Run Ruritan Club Scholarship

The Sandy Run Ruritan Club realizes the value of an education and is especially interested in a better education for students in the Sandy Run Community. The application deadline is March 3, 2017. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship Program

The Richland County Alumnae Chapter is pleased to announce the chapter will award 10 scholarships in the amount of $1500 each to graduating seniors in Richland, Lexington, Newberry and Fairfield school districts.


All applications will be screen based on evidence of financial need, GPA, SAT/ACT results, essay, letters or recommendation and extra-curricular activities.

Columbia (SC) Alumnae Chapter-Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who have a minimum GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. They must be a high school senior planning to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Students must be planning to major in the arts-visual arts, music, dance, creative writing or drama. Application information is below. All materials and application must be postmarked by March 13, 2017.

SC State Fair Scholarship

ach year the South Carolina State Fair “Ride of Your Life” Scholarship Program awards a total of $300,000 in scholarships to high school students in South Carolina.

Applications are now available on our website, www.scstatefair.org. Applications must be completed online by March 15, 2017.

Please make your students aware that this scholarship is available to any student in South Carolina who is a senior in a public or private high school or home school. This student must be planning to attend a public or private college, university, or technical college in the state of South Carolina.

The South Carolina State Fair will award fifty (50) $6000 scholarships to students across the state to be paid at the rate of $1500 per year over a four year period. The fifty 2017 scholars will be required to meet eligibility requirements deemed necessary by the South Carolina State Fair.

SC Education Association-Retired Scholarship

The SC Education Association-Retired is awarding a scholarship designed to encourage promising young people to prepare for and pursue careers in education at an accredited four-year college or university in South Carolina. The scholarship is $1000. The scholarship will be awarded for four consecutive years pending grades and graduation. Eligibility and application is listed below. Justin Thomas Custav Pepper Memorial Scholarship

For scholarships awarded in 2017, the foundation will offer at least four additional scholarships. These scholarships will be provided to students in all Lexington or Newberry County Schools. Students who plan to enroll in a freshman class of an institution of higher learning in any state may apply for this scholarship. Application must be received by the Justin Pepper Foundation by March 15, 2017. The application is attached below and students may pick up a copy of the application outside Ms. McBride's office.

Francis Marion Scholarships:

Aside from the McNair Scholarship due on December 1st, Francis Marion also the following scholarships;

Eligibility: U.S. college freshmen pursuing a degree in a STEM field with 3.0 or higher GPA at a Horatio Alger or Honeywell partner school.

Intertech Foundation STEM Scholarship

Award: $2,500

Deadline: 3/15/2017
Eligibility: U.S. high school seniors or college students with a 3.3 or higher GPA who intend to study computer science.
How to apply: Submit required documentation and an essay describing your work ethic and what you hope to accomplish after you graduate college. Application located here.

National Peace Essay Contest

Award: $10,000 (one award), $5,000 (one award), $2,500 (one award), $1,000 (50 awards)

Deadline: 3/15/2017
Eligibility: U.S. high school students in grades 9-12.
How to apply: Write an imaginary 1,000- to 1,250-word memo to a foreign ambassador about how the U.S. could help their country, which is experiencing a humanitarian crisis. Application located here.

Youth Free Expression Film Contest

Award: $5,000 scholarship to the New York Film Academy (one award), $1,000 (one award), $500 (one award), $250 (one award)

Deadline: 3/15/2017
Eligibility: U.S. students who are 19 or younger on the day of submission.
How to apply: Submit an original video of four minutes or less about the limits of free expression on social media. Application located here.

Lexington County Clemson Club Scholarship

The Lexington County Clemson Club is offering a scholarship to assist worthy graduating seniors with their expenses to Clemson University. Applicants must be accepted by Clemson University and be planning to attend in the Fall of 2017. Students accepted into the Bridge program are NOT eligible. The scholarship is in the amount of $1500 for the freshman year. They may also be eligible for an additional $1000 each of the following three years if their grades, etc. are acceptable, making this scholarship worth a possible total of $4500. Students must turn in their application with ALL the items by March 23, 2017. SC Coaches of Association of Women's Sports

SC Coaches of Association of Women's Sports are offering two scholarships. Only one student may apply from each school. Students must have participated in a high school sport to qualify. Applications are due by March 24, 2017. Students interested should see Ms. McBride for an application.


1. South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports and Trophies by “M” Scholarship - $1000.00 scholarship to an enrolling female college freshman planning to major in the medical field.

2. South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Educator’s Scholarship - $1000.00 scholarship to an enrolling female college freshman planning to major in education. An additional $1000.00 scholarship is awarded from these applications for a Female Scholar Athlete.

3. Only one application from each school will be accepted. If there is more than one application for each scholarship your school’s scholarship committee must decide which application will be sent to SCCAWS.

4. Applications are to be returned complete and in order according to page number.

Lee S. Evans Scholarship
Mr. Evans, an educator and consultant, has taught thousands of builders how to better manage their businesses. The Evans' endowed gift, along with the generous contributions of many of Mr. Evans' friends, colleagues and former students, created the scholarship fund to assist in addressing the pressing need for educating and training construction managers in the residential building industry.


NAHB Professional Women in Building Strategies for Success Scholarship
This scholarship fund encourages students to further their education in housing industry-related programs.


National Housing Endowment/EOC Student Scholarship Fund
The National Housing Endowment/EOC Student Scholarship (formerly the Bill Carr Scholarship) is awarded to children of Executive Officers in pursuit of a college degree. Funding is through Executive Officer contributions and interest accrued by the Endowment. The scholarship program is managed by the National Housing Endowment/EOC Student Scholarship Subcommittee. To date, more than 187 students have received funds totaling more than $224,500.

Ayn Rand - Anthem Essay Contest

Award: $2,000 (one award), $500 (five awards), $200 (10 awards), $50 (45 awards), $30 (175 awards)

Eligibility: High school students in grades 8-10.

Sinclair Masonic Lodge Scholarship:

The Sinclair Masonic Lodge is offering a $1000 scholarship to graduating senior who plans to attend college in the fall 2017. Interest students should have a commitment to service, academic success, show financial need and write a personal essay about them. "Never Give Up" MS Scholarship Foundation

The criteria for the Mary J. Szczepanski "Never Give Up" MS Scholarship Foundation is as follows:

  • Seniors must collect a minimum of $500 to be considered, since our mission is to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis
  • All donations of any amount for MS are certainly welcome
  • Collect pledges from today-April 1, 2017
  • Use the pledge sheets printed from the website www.msscholarship.org
  • Turn in completed pledge sheets and remaining donations by April 1, 2017
  • All pledges for MS should be in the form of check or money order
  • All money raised by the students goes to fight Multiple Sclerosis through research

Cayce-West Columbia Lions Club Scholarship

The Cayce-West Columbia Lions Club will offer a $500 scholarship to four seniors who plan to attend an in-state college. Interested students should have a commitment to volunteer service, academic success and show financial need. The deadline is April 4, 2017. The application is listed below.

Rotary Club of Cayce/West Columbia

The Rotary club will present a $1500 scholarship to an Airport High School graduating senior. The criteria for the scholarship are upper 30% of the class, academic achievement, financial need, community service, the ability to communicate, leadership potential and business potential. All completed applications items are due April 5, 2017. All completed applications need to be mailed to Neil Stalker at PO BOX 2131 West Columbia, SC 29171. Applications are attached below. The Katrina Shealy Scholarship

The Katrina Shealy Scholarship is a $500 scholarship which will be awarded to two students. Applicants must be graduating from a South Carolina school and planning to attend a SC University, college or technical college. Students should be active in their school and community, and have a strong academic record.

AHS Richard Cribb Memorial Scholarship

One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who meets the following criteria:

ü Be a CATE completer, a student who has taken four (4) occupational credits within the same career path

ü Be of good character.

Application Process:

1. Complete scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

2. Attach a 250-word personal statement about how your CATE courses will help you in your career goals and future plans

3. Attach a resume, indicating occupational courses, extra-curricular activities, part-times jobs, and church/community service.

4. Have your vocational teacher complete the attached teacher evaluation form.

5. Attach a copy of your parent’s 10040 income tax forms (pages 1 and 2) for 2016.

6. Completed application, personal statement and recommendations due to Guidance no later than Thursday, April 20, 2017..

AHS Johnny Bowen Memorial Scholarship

One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who meets the following criteria:

ü Have at least a 2.8 GPA

ü Be active in extracurricular activities and/or athletics

ü A supporter of AHS and other AHS students

ü Be of good character.

Application Process:

1. Complete scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

2. Attach a 250-word personal statement about your years at AHS and how you will use what you learned and/or participated in to reach your career goals.

3. Attach two recommendations from teachers, administrators, and/or coaches.

4. Completed application, personal statement and recommendations due to Guidance no later than Thursday, April 20, 2017.

AHS Justin Hooks Memorial JROTC Scholarship

One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior with at least two years (including senior year) of JROTC.

Application Process:

1. Complete scholarship application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

2. Attach a 250-word personal statement about how you feel JROTC has prepared you for life’s challenges.

3. Attach two recommendations from outside the JROTC program. At least one of the recommendations should be from and AHS teacher/administrator

4. Completed application, personal statement and recommendations due to Guidance no later than Thursday, April 20, 2017.

2017 Student-View Scholarship Program

The 2017 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. This program includes;

  • One $4,000
  • Two $1,000
  • Ten $500 Scholarships

Nursing Schools Almanac Scholarship

Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its third annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. Our website will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:
