Germany occupied Denmark in 1940.When the germans reported the jews from denmark in August 1943 they spantoneously started to organize a rescue plan and they helped them reach the coast the fishermen then took them to sweden.Then three weeks later they rescued more than 7,000 people
Why it was important
Thanks to this remarkable mass rescue effort, at wars end Denmark it had one of the highest Jweish survival rates for any European country.

To conclusion this rescue was a big part of the holocaust but after that rescue they still continued to arrest jews and treat them differently
