Counselor's Corner
Part of what makes Mill Creek Schools so special is that we are a community invested in each others' lives. For our families who struggle with making ends meet, this can be a stressful time of year, and we are happy to help however we can.
One program that our students greatly benefit from is the Mill Creek Backpack Ministry, sponsored by the Amo First Baptist Church, our neighbors across the street. They serve over 50 children in our school district by supplying snacks for students over weekends and holidays to help sustain those with food insecurity.
One of our Student Council's big projects each year is a Thanksgiving food drive. During the week of November 6, they'll collect nonperishable food and hygiene items to distribute to the families who have asked for assistance this holiday season.
We also have quite a few community members and churches in our community who sponsor children for the holidays by shopping their Christmas wish lists and delivering gifts to the school. Families who have been identified as needing assistance then pick up those gifts and have them under the tree for Christmas morning. These special folks make sure that our students all have a magical holiday season.
As always, if you need to reach me, don't hesitate to call or email.
