Mrs. Lyon's Class
Week of 9/8-9/11
Last week, your students ended the week working in teams. Dr. Binggeli, the PISD Superintendent, came by our class to greet us while we were brainstorming in teams on our desks (See picture below). The students were fully engaged and enjoyed working in teams.
This week we are continuing on in Social Studies to explore different types of maps. We will be going in to the Learning Commons at the end of the week to create a scavenger hunt around the United States on the tablets. We will return the following week to have a classmate go on our virtual scavenger hunt.
Our spelling pattern this week is Long Vowels. Remind your student to practice throughout the week. Their 2 spelling pages (front/back) are due on Friday.
Our skills this week in Reading focus on using different strategies while you are reading. We will be learning more about the Titanic in the process!
Encourage your student to read a few times a week and log their minutes on the bright yellow reading log page. They are due at the end of the month.
I hope that you have an amazing 4-day week!
