Your Weekly Update from Wilson Middle School
Principal's Message
Hello Wilson families,
We hit the 100th day of school this week and with one week left until February break, we are in full gear for this trimester. Additionally, we have had some fun events, assemblies and activities for the students to highlight. Last week, we had a hip hop assembly for the 7th grade. The students reported that they thoroughly enjoyed it. This week, we had grade level assemblies with a focus on "Just Show Up" stories. The students who shared stories did a remarkable job, and the messages were important and heartfelt. We are so proud of everyone who participated and contributed. We also celebrated National School Counseling Week by having staff wear any post-secondary swag (sweatshirt, t-shirt, etc.) to represent and share the different institutions and pathways we took to get to where we are today as a larger Wilson community. We are super grateful for all the work and dedication that our school counselors give to our students and community.
Below are pictures of two of the grade level assemblies after the following questions were asked, “Stand up if you have shown up for someone else in the past couple of months.” “Stand up if someone has shown up for you in the past couple of months.” “Stand up if you plan to show up for someone else!” It was nice to see the students respond positively.
The Math team had a meet this week. Below is a recap from the club advisor, Mr. Heiden with a picture below.
Math! Math! Math!
The Wilson Math Team had its 4th competition yesterday at Wellesley Middle School.
We are proud to announce that we had 5 students score 10 or more points this meet.
Scoring a 12 was 7th grader Luke Zitnick and 8th grader Smrithi Srivas.
Scoring a 14 were 8th graders Saumya Ahuja and Jack Zitnick.
Scoring a 16 was 8th grader Aanya Sikka.
Congratulations to 5th graders Alaric Leung, Livnoor Sethi, Vaidehi Siddarth, Allison Syrjala, Jon Vardhami and 8th grader Garrett Rodda for a job well done.
We want to remind everyone that you can join the Wilson Math Team anytime. We meet in Mr. Heiden’s room 221 every Thursday from 2:05 to 3:00.
Hope to see you there and may the odds be in your favor!
We are excited about the warm weather this weekend. Enjoy it!

Paper - On-Demand Tutoring
Natick Public Schools is excited to announce our partnership with Paper for on-demand tutoring for NHS students. Paper is a secure, online tutoring service that provides students with unlimited, 24/7 academic support. Whether they’re stuck on homework, studying for a test, or need someone to read and make suggestions to their essays, there will always be experts available online to assist students in over 200 subjects and more than 4 languages.
Paper tutors have been specially trained to conduct expert, academic support in a secure, chat-based platform. With a commitment to helping students learn, they’ll never give students answers, but rather interact with them in an encouraging tone to lead them forward.
This is a free service that we’re providing, so students are encouraged to use it as much as they need, whenever they need. Our teachers also have accounts and will be able to review all student activity to see what they’re working on and provide more targeted instruction as needed.
If you’d like to learn more about Paper you can sign up for a Paper hosted Parent Info Session, available in both English and Spanish.
To see Paper and the help it offers firsthand, we encourage you to login with your students. To get started, simply visit PAPER’s student login page, type your school’s name, and log in via Google using your school credentials.
We’re thrilled to offer our students the unlimited, 24/7 support that Paper provides and we can’t wait to see what we’re able to accomplish together.
