Mrs. Menta's Message

Happy long weekend Craddock families!

It was so fantastic seeing all of the staff and students back after a much-needed Spring Break. The four days we had this week were jam-packed and the kids seemed to settle back in easily! It was almost hard to know we had the 7th and 10th off after just returning!

Due to the timing of the last newsletter, I did not have the chance to send out a huge THANK YOU to all of our PTO and parent volunteers who helped to make our two Donut Days a big success! As you know, this event hasn't been around in a handful of years due to COVID and it was wonderful seeing all of our families return to enjoy a sweet treat with our students. The time and effort put into making this happen is greatly appreciated by the staff and I!

I wanted to formally welcome Mrs. Donna Seitzer to the Craddock staff! She is an intervention specialist and will be with us through the end of the year to help support some of our staff and students. She has spent the year as a long term intervention specialist sub at both Leighton and Harmon. We are so gratefull for a few months with her and look forward to many of you meeting her through ETR and/or IEP meetings!

Finally, it is the season of preparing and planning for the 23-24 school year! While we have a lot of great things populating the months of April and May, we begin our 23-24 planning now to ensure smooth transitions and successful starts for all students. One of the most important pieces is student placement. As you can imagine, this is an intricate process that has many factors involved. One of the most important factors is input from our parents.

Below you will find the link to a Student Placement Parent Feedback form. While I cannot accept specific teacher requests, you are invited to fill out the short Google form linked below to share what type of teacher your child does best with. I will personally read all of those submissions and combine your thoughts with the information from our school staff to make the best placement for your child. If you would like your feedback considered, please fill out this form instead of emailing me. It helps me greatly to stay organized and have all of this important information in one place! You are also more than welcome to come in and meet with me to talk about your thoughts. My contact information is below.

We need to begin placement of students in approximately one month, so any feedback you'd like to provide must be to me no later than Friday, May 12th if you would like it considered. Thank you and please reach out with any questions, concerns or feedback!

Have a wonderful long weekend. We look forward to seeing all of our adorable 1st and 2nd grade friends back on Tuesday, April 11th!

Take care,

Kim Menta

It is recommended you check this link often when making decisions about whether your child is buying lunch or not. The menu has been changing more often than we anticipated. Thank you!
