May It Be of Benefit

Hello Families,

Most of you heard this week from our district leadership that the district is moving toward a hybrid model of instruction in the coming weeks. If you were not able to watch the video, here's a link to it. I am sure you have many questions, and I hope to be able to answer them soon. At this point, the district is taking input from stakeholders and developing a solid plan to deliver the best hybrid model of instruction that we can. Personally, I want to make sure we offer a program that maximizes quality instruction while keeping students and staff as safe as possible for those who return to campus. What I can also tell you is that we are hoping to transition to hybrid instruction by the end of September (and are still planning to offer an option for those who choose not to come onto campus for hybrid instruction). For now, please continue to focus on maintaining your daily online live (synchronous) and offline (asynchronous) lessons and be sure students are attending their class meeting which occurs at the beginning of the day in all classes. If you need to check your student's schedule, please see the links at the bottom of this newsletter to each classroom's daily schedule. If you try to log into the live morning session and experience trouble, call the office and we can try to assist you even while the meeting is going on.

One new support we are offering starting September 9th is academic and social-emotional support through the ACE program. During Distance Learning, all families can participate in this tutoring. You do NOT have to have been enrolled in ACE. Please see the information below under the article entitled "ACE Tutoring Program" for more information and a link to sign up.

With gratitude,

Mrs. Gold

Having Trouble?

Our office is fielding many calls from parents who cannot log into their child's class meeting or instruction. We AREN'T "techy" people, but we ARE service-oriented and we know the basics and are always willing to help you if you are struggling and the teacher cannot come to the phone because they are doing live instruction. Call us at 224-4180 and we will see what we can do.

Mrs. Mix's Newsletter for Families

Here's the link to our Counselor's Newsletter. This week is all about flexibility. I love this! It goes right along with a theme I shared with staff last week about the importance of adapting.

Enjoy Mrs. Mix's words of encouragement.

ACE Tutoring Program

We are here to help support you and your students during these unpredictable times. We will be providing an after school support program to help assist students here at Shasta Meadows. Students should bring their Chromebook, school supplies, and assignments to work on for about 45 minutes. We will provide support and a quiet, cool environment. We will also be offering 45 minutes of enrichment time for students during these sessions. We will be hosting daily sessions starting September the 8th. Please sign up and we will let you know if other spaces are available in the future. There will be a 30-minute gap between sessions so all high contact areas can be cleaned to ensure students' safety. Students and staff will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing. If your student is in 2nd-grade or below they will not be required to wear a mask, but it is strongly requested. Please fill out one form for every child you would like to attend. Thank you!
