TOSHIBA in China
Toshiba is one of the most popular laptop companies in China as well as a very popular in America. Everyone in my direct family has a TOSHIBA laptop. That's why when I found out how the workers are treated I was even more stunned.
Employees and Employers
By 2008, The Toshiba factory in China had at least 5,000 people! Also in 2008, there was a massive fire at the production factory in Dogguan, China due to all the chemicals although payment has gone up since then, conditions are even worse.

Factory conditions
The factory was founded in 1995. According to reports from 2008 they had 3000 workers each working 10-12 hours a day. With up to 100 hours of overtime per month, including weekends. Workers live in factory dormitories where one fourth of their low salaries is spent on food, water, and electricity for these dorms.
