The excitement grows...

This week we identified which element of our migration learning we wished to showcase to you all! From drama to stories and a walk along our learning journey we are planning an Exit Point to captivate and inform you about our learning this term. Diligently, all week we prepared for our final Mathematical test. We published our historical fiction books during our writing sessions. Finally, we continued on Pravana's and Ayeesha's journey of a lifetime, as they edge closer to safety and a new life! What a week!

Virtue of the week...Joyfulness

Mathematics

All week we have purposefully prepared for our end of year exam. Around school lunchtime and break you could see children using every spare moment to continue to enhance their skills. In class we aided each other through coaching each other through taxing questions. The pictures below provide a glimpse into the efforts of all the children this week.

It has been a year of great learning in Mathematics and massive growth in confidence and self belief for many in this subject! This is the final unit the children will complete in their Singapore Maths programme.

IPC

All our energies this week were ploughed into our Exit Point. In small teams we worked collaboratively as we strove for excellence in our specialised area. The classrooms are slowly becoming refugee camps. Displays are building with words, sound and images which represents our learning this term. Each learning pod will have experts, who will articulate our understanding of the amazing voyage the two classes have traveled. Next Monday and Tuesday our classrooms will be a hive of activity as we bring our learning to live. Our role is share all our talents and ideas across the two rooms for the very last time! We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible next Wednesday morning from 8.15 am.

Language Arts

Finally, our immigrants reached their destination. For some it was all they could wish for but for many the streets were not paved with gold. Through peer assessment and quality assurance checks we reviewed each others stories. Also, we worked together to find images to best represent our writing at crucial stages. Furthermore, we designed the layout, format and design of our books. Finally, we gave our stories a title, which we felt best sold our story. We hope you enjoy reading as many stories as possible next week.
