So many things are going well!
- We have a strong PBIS program to support the positive behaviors of each of our scholars.
- We regularly celebrate student behavior, usually the last day of the month.
- We are having bullying presentations throughout the intermediate and middle school grades (3-8 grade). These are important conversations for our children to understand.
- Every classroom has a calm corner for students to use when they need a moment to calm down!
- Every student has an opportunity to get extra support in English and Math during the school day.
- Our family liaison helps families find food and other resources they need.
- Our MTSS facilitator helps scholars meet academic and behavior expectations.
- We meet every first Tuesday for PTO, Site Council, and Family Engagement. We could use your input, please stop by sometime!
- Our restorative practices facilitator works with scholars to solve problems before they escalate.
- Our teachers post the expectations of what scholars will learn every day.
- Student work is up all over the school, and it looks great!
- We have interesting assemblies including:
- Opera
- Small band groups
- Bullying information
- Celebrations of students
- student of the month
- kindness awards
- growth in academics awards
- We are already planning promotion for 8th grade, 5th grade, and Kindergarten too!
- We have support on campus from several departments including African American Student Services and Student Relations, among others!
- Our families are the best! Thank you for all of your support.
- We did a great job on our safety walk through. No concerns were noted. Safety is the most important piece every day.
The first Tuesday
Please try to come to the school on the first Tuesday of every month to offer your input.
4:30 PM Parent Teacher Organization Meeting
5:00 PM Site Council Meeting
5:30 PM Family Engagement Meeting
February 6th we will be discussing our school needs and plans moving forward. We will continue to discuss how to get more families engaged so that we get more input from you. You are invited, please join us!
Very Well Family has some great tips for not only 6–9-year-olds but also tweens and teens. It is hard to be school aged right now. We appreciate it when you get them to bed at an early hour and keep them off of their electronic devices. That helps them arrive on time and prepare for their day with the rest of the class! Thank you.
