A TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP JOURNEY
Most of us can agree upon the fact that the level of complexity in the world we live in, is growing rapidly. It is almost impossible to predict the future because we live in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) world.
So how can we, and is it possible to, prepare for the unknown future and actively create it?
Most traditional educations still provide teaching where the theories, problems and cases are based upon linear thinking, for linear problems, in a linear world.
KAOSPILOT has challenged the traditional educational system for the last 24 years. Those 24 years have given us experience in how to design a programme where the participants learn how to prepare for and help to create the unknown future. We focus on providing students with the required skills, mind-set and behaviours to enter the complexity of the non-linear world.
The purpose of the Leadershift Programme is to develop leaders who can navigate and utilise opportunities and challenges in a turbulent world- by enhancing their capability to see, understand and act with orientation towards sustainable results.
KAOSPILOT are now using their experience to create LEADERSHIFT – an executive programme which will take the participants through a transformational learning experience.
The programme is designed to accommodate 20 participants.
KAOSPILOT believe that learning to learn is essential, which is contradictory of many other teaching programmes. To allow learning to take place, our principles are based on ACTION & REFLECTION, which are then supplemented with relevant theory when needed.
Program - in brief!
The Leadershift Programme is a one and a half year, part-time education, aimed at preparing leaders to excel in a rapidly shifting, globalised context.
By developing the participants´ capacity to cope with change, fuelling their courage, enticing their curiosity, developing community and harnessing creativity – they and their organisations will be better positioned to capitalise upon new opportunities and deliver on their strategies.
The participants will solve a business critical assignment as provided, owned by and anchored in their organisation, in addition to learning journeys provided by KAOSPILOT and our partners. They will learn and use a multi-disciplinary approach in a team-based setting to solve problems.
The programme is delivered through six modules, where four of which will take place in Denmark and two in other locations. Each module will consist of 3-5 days on site, excluding preparation and travel.
In-between the modules, business sparring, individual coaching and peer-run workshops will be offered.
The LEADERSHIFT Programme has six overarching themes
"COURAGE – It is how to integrate and understand your own values and ambition and how to utilise it into private, personal and professional life. Furthermore, it is about how to adapt and respond to the changes and the circumstances of the complexity that surrounds us while still staying true to your values. To understand failure from learning perspective and to dare to stand for something.
CREATIVITY – It is how to let go of the existing in order to connect signals, impulses and information to generate new ideas and form new combinations. Creativity is a generating of new ideas through experimentation and to bring them to life through your own and others’ actions.
CHANGE – How to adapt and be nimble are key to many strategies for businesses these days. It is how to learn and engage triple loop learning, where the focus is upon: What is right? – Learning new beliefs and unlearning old ones which leads to a transformation. Making a change is to seek, scan, scene and share the world for signals and relevant information, and to be equipped for navigation, change and creation of the future.
COMMUNICATION – It is how to articulate and communicate a purpose or vision by using a clear consistent narrative that rests on your values. It is important to use this narrative to influence and create meaning for people you collaborate with. Developing relations through dialogue and embracing different perspectives are key methods to grow and create ‘the new.’
COMMUNITY – It is how to use your personal mind-sets and skills to build relations and alliances. It is about identifying, creating and working with similarities. Community is using yourself as a resource to provide a culture and system change in your surroundings, which provides results within the following criteria: People – Profit – Planet.
CRAFTSMANSHIP – In many ways, this can be viewed as a synthesis of the other five C´s, but also in its own right. It involves a number of frameworks and tools around areas such as; decision-making, planning, conflict-resolution, network and relationship building, competence development and future orientation.
The outcome for the organisation will be:
- An implemented solution for a business critical challenge.
- A graduate who has undergone training and development to be better at leading in complexity by being courageous, collaborative and compassionate – they will be able to generate cultural change and business impact.
- Recognition for being innovative and future-oriented by going for the next generation of leadership development programmes.
The outcome for the individual participants will be:
- Ability to collaborate and make use of different competencies and diversities.
- Ability and courage to make decisions in uncertainty.
- Ability to navigate in turbulence.
- Ability to solve complex problems and act upon opportunities.
- Ability to create impact and a variety of value.
