Compare Contrast

Stephen King and Jim Carrey are both very talented and famous people. Although they work in total opposite genres, (Jim Carrey is a Comedian and Stephen King writes HORROR), they are very much alike. Jim Carrey is a comedian who is known for his many funny movies But growing, up life wasn't always so handy dandy. Jim was the youngest of 4 kids and sometimes it got hard. Jim was always into comedy and by age 10 his teachers would let him have 10 minutes at the end of the day to put on a comedy show for his classmates. But with four kids to pay for, money came short and eventually Jim and his family were forced to move into a small camper. To help his family, Jim got a job as a janitor and worked eight hour shifts. After his family was back on their own two feet, Jim took a job as a stand up comedian in a nightclub, but he was called awful and lost many jobs which is exactly were his similarities with Stephen King come in to play. Like Jim, Stephen was turned down multiple times by publishers who claimed his work was bad and tasteless. And also like Jim, Stephen had a hard childhood. When Stephen was young, his mom and dad split up leaving him and his brother to travel between homes. This made it hard for Stephen to make friends, since he was moving so often. So while they had a hard childhood, in the end they both used their sad times to be very successful at what they do.

Problem Soultion

Growing up Colonel Sanders had many problems. One problem was that his father died when he was only six years old. Being the oldest child, he took on the responsibility of feeding his younger brother and sister. As a solution to this problem, from the age of 10, colonel held down numerous jobs, a farmhand, an army mule-tender, a locomotive fireman, a railroad worker, an aspiring lawyer, an insurance salesman, a ferryboat entrepreneur, a tire salesman, an amateur obstetrician, an (unsuccessful) political candidate, a gas station operator, a motel operator and finally, a restaurateur. By age 30 colonel had finally decided what it was he wanted to sell, fried chicken. One big problem however was that no one would buy his chicken. In order to solve this problem, Colonel went door to door to get people to buy his home made fried chicken. He had to live in his car for a long time. Today Colonel owns one of the most popular fried chicken restaurants, which is known as KFC.

Cause Effect

For cause and effect i believe that Vincent Van Gogh is a perfect example because. he had many mental diseases including Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. Van Gogh was born with a brain lesion that many doctors believe was aggravated by his prolonged use of absinthe causing his epileptic condition. Dr. Gachet, another of Van Gogh's physicians, was thought to have treated his epilepsy with digitalis. This prescription drug can cause one to see in yellow or see yellow spots. This may have been one of the reasons why Van Gogh loved this color. Not only was yellow used in many of his paintings but it is a prominent color. instead of pushing his disease away, he took advantage of it to paint gorgeous paintings that are now on the market for over 45 million dollars. Although Van Gogh only sold one painting during his lifetime, he created 900 beautiful paintings and made 1,100 drawings and sketches which are now worth millions.
