Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fast growing neurological disease which affects your nerve cells and spinal cord. These nerve cells are called neurons which transmit messages from your brain and spinal cord to the muscles of your body parts like legs and arms. In the beginning, this disease causes mild muscle problems like trouble walking or running, speech problems and writing troubles etc. but it grows fast and very soon you lose your strength so much that you can’t even move. It is a fatal disease which has no cure. The latest survey shows that men are more prone to catch it than women. Unfortunately medicines can only relieve symptoms and can prolong the survival of the patient. The early symptoms are shown in hand and arms muscles and patient experience difficulty with simple tasks like buttoning a shirt or turning a key. Some patients start experiencing speech troubles in the beginning. ALS patients become dependent and this is their biggest anxiety.
