What is Prostate Cancer?

Prostate cancer is cancer that starts in the prostate gland. The prostate is a small, walnut-sized structure that makes up part of a man's reproductive system. It wraps around the urethra, the tube that carries urine out of the body.

Symptoms

  • A need to urine frequently. (Especially at night)
  • Holding back urine.
  • Weak or interruption of urine flow
  • Painful or burning urination.
  • Painful ejaculation.
  • Blood in urine or semen.
  • Pain or stiffness in lower back, hips, or upper thighs.

Causes

  • Age 45 and older.
  • Genetics
  • Diet
  • Medication
  • Obesity
  • STD s
  • Agent Orange

Prevention

  • Eating Healthy
  • Excising

Those are some theory's to prevent but medically their is not way to prevent Prostate Cancer.

Treatment

  • Surgery
  • Radiation therapy
  • Hormone therapy
  • Bone directed treatment.

Diagnosis

  • Digital Rectal Exam-
  • Prostate-specific Antigen Test
  • Ultrasound- if your Doctor is concern
  • Collecting a sample of prostate tissure

- About 233,00 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed

- About 29,480 men will die of prostate cancer.

- About 1 in 7 men would be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime

- About 6 in 10 cases men older of 65 are diagnosed with prostate cancer.

- 1 in 36 men would die of prostate cancer.

- More than 2.5 million men have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and some are still alive.
