Kia ora whānau,
It is hard to believe that the end of the year is imminent. This week the teams will celebrate the successes and achievements of their learners during a team assembly and have a team picnic. They can wear non-uniform clothes on their picnic day. This week will also be the last cycle of Specialisation for the year.
The last two days of the year will be a little different - Kōwhai and Mānuka will all come on Monday 13th December for their final day. The other three teams, Rātā, Rimu and Tōtara will have their final half day on Tuesday 14th December.
All learners will need to collect their personal belongings and take them home on these two days. Any belongings left at school after these dates will be donated or disposed of.
Ngā mihi nui,
Wendy

LET'S PROTECT OUR ROTO - LAKE PUPUKE
Pupuke Taniwha (Guardians of Lake Pupuke) are an environmental action group originating from Forrest Hill Primary School. Worried about the health of the lake, they have started a petition to protect it by having it legally included in the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park.
Petition Reason:
- Greater recognition of the significance of the lake and land, including the historic and cultural significance for mana whenua.
- Increased protection for the ecology and natural features, and sustaining of the lake's life-supporting capacity.

Guitar Lessons - Dave Gatman
Hi there! I have taught Guitar to kids in schools for over 15 years. I love working with kids and inspiring the next generation of musicians. I like to make my lessons as positive and fun as possible, teaching a range of songs from traditional folk/blues to the current pop and rock tunes.
I've played the guitar in a large variety of settings, and I'm currently in a covers band playing at weddings, bars and parties.
Lessons are in groups of up to 4 at a time, and cost $20.00 plus gst, for half an hour.
Individual lessons are offered if I feel like the student will benefit from them, and if I have space. These cost $35.00 plus GST per half hour.
Lessons are on Wednesday mornings at TNIS as well.
Feel free to contact me - dave.gatman@musiqhub.co.nz. Or text/call on 021 2221456.
Thanks,
Dave
