Please help us welcome Ms. Coco to our team. She will be joining the ECE team when we return from spring break. Ms. Coco is excited to bring her love of theatre and dance to Room 202's classroom environment. Welcome!
Welcome back to Ms. Robin Francis! Ms. Robin has been a sub for a while and will now be working with Ms. Dana in Room 203. Ms. Robin is a seasoned Montessorian working on her NC licensure and is excited to join the ECE team.
Week of the Young Child
Our preschool classrooms celebrated the "Week of the Young Child" this week, with lots of activities to celebrate our young learners and those who care for them. Consider having your own WOYC with some of these activities:
Check out this interview with children's musician, Ella Jenkins. Sing your favorite childhood songs together while playing homemade instruments.
Make your favorite snack or meal together. Try some of the recipes at Super Healthy Kids.
Work Together Wednesday
Read this article on Meaningful Play and then get to it! A gift of time and attention is priceless!
Get creative with these art ideas for busy families. It won't take long to fill their hearts with gladness.
Pick your favorite outdoor spot and share a hike or picnic with your child(ren). Read this article on exploring the great outdoors first for some reminders and tips on how to make it a safe and kid-friendly event.
We Wish You Well, Ms. Kaitlyn
Today we danced into Spring Break while wishing Ms. Kaitlyn well on her new adventure. She will be moving over the break to an early childhood consultant position and we are so excited for her. Ms. Kaitlyn is an amazing teacher and a joy to work with...she will be missed. If you would like to send well wishes to her at her new position, drop off any cards or artwork or letters at the front office and we will make sure they get to her new location! Keep shining, Ms. Kaitlyn!
APS Staff Appreciation Month: MAY (Yes, all of it!)
Local Author Performance Prek-4: April 28
APS Field Day June 3: Details Coming SOON
Get some rest this week & don't forget to support your friends & family!
Remember that everyone is having lots emotions about the end of school (that's true on a normal year...and this is far from normal). Spend some one on one time with your child, talking, laughing, playing. It is important for your health and theirs. You've got this...and so do they. Make some connections, plan some summer events or play dates. The APS family you have now doesn't have to end. Enjoy your last quarter with those you love and adore!
