From Dr. Stucker
Park Hill Online Verification and Residency for the 21-22 school year is now open. This was communicated through an email from Kara Hevalow. Here is the link to additional information.
An important part of online verification is to let us know if your child will attend in-person school or the Park Hill Online Academy during the 21-22 school year. This information will be used to build a schedule to meet the needs of our students. We would appreciate it if you would fill out this survey in Infinite Campus today to help us plan for next year.
Starting July 1st Melissa DeDonder will be taking over leadership at Walden. I am so excited about her next journey. She is an Original Jaguar and will help make Walden great!
Sign up now for in-person learning or the Park Hill Online Academy for 2021-2022
The window is open now through April 16th for you to select either in-person learning or our new Park Hill Online Academy option for your middle school student for the 2021-2022 school year. Selecting your learning mode now gives us time to complete the scheduling puzzle, as we work to balance the different course needs between in-person and online students.
The Park Hill Online Academy is a small, online choice with limited course offerings, for students who do well in the online learning environment and want to make sure they have a high-quality option with Park Hill teachers and the Park Hill curriculum. There is more information about the Park Hill Online Academy on the district website. Please note that we must ask students to commit to the Park Hill Online Academy for a full school year.
To choose whether you want your child to learn in-per son or online, go to the the Campus Parent Portal and select the Survey tab in the Message Center (See a screenshot here). Please note, this selection is separate from Online Verification and Residency.

4th Quarter Intramurals
We have exciting news! Walden will be hosting a few fun intramurals during 4th quarter. Here are the important details:
- The intramurals will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school (3:05-4:50pm) April 13th – May 13th.
- Your student can ride a bus home from intramurals or be picked up from the front of the school.
- Please only sign up for one slot since there are limited spots due to our efforts to keep students as socially distanced as possible.
- You can sign up here!
These intramurals are separate from the homework helper that is being offered every Tuesday and Thursday through May 25th. The link to sign up for homework helper is here. As a reminder, you need to sign up for each day you want your student to attend.
Additionally, don’t forget that Mr. Wilson hosts math help every Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting at 7:00am. Your student does not need to sign up to attend the morning math help.

Online student SOS (Signs of Suicide)
Dear Walden Online Parent:
On April 28, 2021 our teachers will lead the SOS lesson with online students. Students will watch age-appropriate video clips and participate in a guided discussion about depression, suicide, and what to do if they are concerned about a friend. Following the video, students will complete an electronic response survey which asks whether they would like to talk to an adult about any concerns. School staff will conduct brief meetings with any student asking to talk.
For your child to participate in the SOS prevention curriculum, you must give consent by filling out the survey embedded in the attached document. To ensure that online students have access to parent/guardian support if needed, Park Hill recommends that a parent/guardian be at home on this day.
If you have questions or concerns please contact Mrs. DeDonder, your child’s counselor or social worker.
In-Person SOS day (Signs of Suicide)
Due to the return to in-person learning from the hybrid mode we have changed the date for our SOS implementation. Our new date is May 3rd. Should you choose to opt your child out of the lesson we will need the attached form returned to the front office or Mrs. DeDonder (email@example.com) by April 28th. “
