why is the Mayans king important to them
why is the Mayans king important to them
For the Mayans their king is so important since they believed that the king was given the right to take control from the gods. That means their given by the people or family heritage, but by the gods . I know this because on Ducksters.com said “Each city-state was ruled by a king. The Maya believed that their king was given the right to rule by the gods".
The kings were the intermediate between gods and the people. The Kings were not only seen as rulers, but also as priest that helped the people to communicate with gods. As explained in incamayanazted.com, “The Kings would perform many of the rituals for the people so that the Gods would be happy with them”. “The King was often seen as the World Tree that connected the people to the Gods”.
I learned that the king of the Maya is very important to them.one reason is they believe that their king can communicate to the gods. The second reason is that “the Maya believe that their king was given the right to rule by the gods” .
