Robert Hunter Elementary School

Mrs. Jessica Braynor, Vice Principal

Sept. 19, 2020

Dear Robert Hunter families,

Thank you for joining us at Back to School Night! We truly appreciate your support and partnership. We know this year is challenging, but we are truly looking forward to an amazing year for our students!!

If you did not get a chance to view the pre-recorded Flipgrid videos on Back to School Night, please do so here: https://flipgrid.com/5cc444e3

On Monday, we welcome back some of our students to the building! If your child is eligible to return, you have received a letter. We have been working hard to get our building ready for a safe return and look forward to welcoming more students as our district’s hybrid instruction phase evolves. As further plans are made regarding the district’s phased re-opening, we will keep everyone posted. If you have opted for your children to remain virtual, we’re planning for a seamless transition into hybrid instruction with our virtual academy in place. Class lists were formed based on the decisions that families made at the end of the summer, so as long as those decisions remain the same, the students will be able to remain with their current classes.

No matter what - our goal is to support each of our students’ social, emotional, and academic needs as best that we can!

We hope you enjoy the weekend!

Warm Regards,

Mrs. Glaab and Mrs. Braynor

This week's calendar:

Sept. 23- Day 4

Sept. 24- Day 5

Sept. 25 - Day 5

Learning from Home - Reminders

Zoom sessions are led by the teacher for students. Should a parent have a question about instruction, the classroom Zoom time is not the time to ask. Our staff would be happy to answer any questions or review any concerns. Please email the teacher so you can secure a time to talk.

If you are home with your children during virtual learning, we ask that you allow the children to take risks and make mistakes as this is how they will learn. Please give them the space to grow as independent learners!

Absences

We now have an online system for you to report an absence from school. Please note, if your child is experiencing technology difficulties, you should not compete this form but should contact your teacher’s child or use the tech hotline to get assistance. Please complete the absence form if you know that your child will not be participating in school.

You can access the form on our School Website on our home page or under the Parent tab.

Counselor Corner

As a reminder, children should view Counselor Corner activities during the independent portion of the day. You can access Counselor Corner using this link:

2020-21 Homeroom Parents Needed!

The PTO is looking for parents interested in volunteering to be homeroom parents for this upcoming year. Since we will be operating in a Virtual and/or Hybrid model, our Homeroom parent roles will look a little bit different this year. But we still need parents to help support our teachers and serve as a bridge between parents, staff, and the PTO.
