Boys Basketball Historic Season Ends With Fourth Place Finish
It was a historic season for the boys basketball program. The Vikings won their fifth straight conference championship, their second straight district championship, won the most games in program history and earned the programs first ever appearance in the Final Four this season. The boys basketball program finished the historic season 28-4 and took 4th place, marking the first ever Final Four finish in the programs history.
The historic season was not only highlighted by the success on the court, but also off the court as well where the boys basketball program held a cumulative 3.4 team GPA and had an attendance rate of 97.5%. The boys program was also very active in the community where they served over 300 hours and raised $3500 for local charities.
Congratulations to the boys basketball program on a record setting season and thank you to our seniors for building a foundation for future success in the program.
Howell Students & Fans Make Their Mark On Springfield - The Sites & Sounds
Howell is well known for their support and enthusiasm for activities and sports but Viking students and fans took their love of Howell to the next level this past weekend in Springfield. The MSHSAA state tournament officials, opposing fans and event workers were impressed with the turnout and support in Springfield.
The State Semifinal game was marked with a sea of blue and gold that filled the entire arena. The trend set during the Final Four run of having arena's and gyms 75-80% full of Howell fans continued. The Viking student section spilled into other sections of the arena as our students filled the entire end court section to root on their Vikings. The game was truly an event that brought the entire Howell community together. The turnout from Howell fans was the largest of all programs in the Final Four and drew rave reviews from players, fans and spectators alike.
Below you can view some video and pictures from the weekend. Thank you to all Howell students, parents, staff and fans for representing Howell in such a positive way and for supporting the Howell family. This weekend was truly a great time to be a Viking!
