Family Choice: In-Person Session on September 19 or Virtual Zoom Meetings
We understand choosing to attend an in-person session is a family choice. For that reason, this session is VOLUNTARY. For the month of September, your family can choose to join this September 19 In-Person Session OR the virtual Monthly Zoom Meeting that your family regularly attends online. The family activities that will be offered at the In-Person Session will be the same theme as activities taught during the virtual Monthly Zoom Meeting.
Structure of this In-Person Family Faith Event
This In-Person Session will be set up similar to a fair atmosphere (not a formal class). On the lawn outside the office of Holy Family Parish, different tables with activities will be set up for families to learn and enjoy. Come together with your children anytime between 1:00PM-2:30PM.
This is a FAMILY Faith Event
This In-Person Session is a FAMILY event. Please come with your family. Parents, do not drop off or allow children to attend this event alone.

Mass Readings for Sunday, September 19: Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
In this weekend's Gospel called, the Greatest in the Kingdom, Jesus' disciples are confused by His words, then learn how to show true greatness and love to God.
As the disciples make their way to Jerusalem with Jesus, Jesus tells them about the prediction of His death and passion. The disciples fail to understand that betrayal and death awaits him there. They did not believe that their Messiah might suffer.
Fear deters them from asking the questions about Jesus' prediction and death. Instead, the disciples are pre-occupied with false ambition, self-seeking, and rivalry by discussion of who among them are the "greatest". Jesus explains what greatness means, through the connection and love for children.
The tenderness of Jesus’ love for children is immense. In every adult, there is an inner child, vulnerable, sensitive, playful, open. Before the world cast its ideas of familiarity, negativity and cynicism, the child in us was full of wonder. It is only through wonder that that we can experience the glory and the greatness of God.
Activities for Family
September Activities for Catholic Families
During this week's Family Faith In-Person Session and Zoom Meetings, families will learn more about significant September Catholic Holy Days. Mother Teresa, St. Vincent De Paul, Most Holy Name of Mary...these are just a few! As a family, we can share fun and resourceful ways to teach our children about these special days.
Below is a handout with different September Activities for Catholic Families. This week, try some of these fun activities! When you complete an activity, color in that date on a September calendar. Send us a picture of your work!

Purrrfect Catch!
At the season opener college football game in Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, September 11, the football game was not the only excitement between the teams of Miami Hurricane and Appalachian State. Midway through the game, mysteriously, a cat was seen hanging off the railing of the upper level seating area!
Although he tried to hold on, you can see in the video below that the cat did fall to the lower deck. Thankfully, fans caught the cat using an American flag and saved his life! The cats' savior then held the animal up to the crowd in Lion King-esque fashion and earned as loud a round of applause and cheers.
