Every curriculum unit for our core content subject areas are based on our Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills or TEKS that the State of Texas requires all schools to teach students. These standards outline the major focus of our lessons and activities. 6th Grade Math - 6th grade students will continue to learn about the angle sum of triangles. Students will also learn how to write equations to represent the area and volume of geometric figures. Students will calculate the area 2-dimensional figures and the volume of 3-dimensional figures

7th Grade Math - 7th Grade will examine area of composite figures. Students will explore how to decompose shapes in order to use geometric formulas to calculate measurements (7.9c). Students will also work on lateral and total surface area.

7th Grade ELA - This week in 7th grade ELA, the students will understand the function of and use the conventions of academic language when speaking and writing. Students will also review elements of expository writing.

7th Grade - Students will be engaged in activities that focus on the era of industrialization and reform in U.S. History.

8th Grade Math - Students will continue to focus on transformations, specifically, reflections, rotations, and dilations (8.10c). Students will discover how to represent these various transformations algebraically.
