Career
Phil Knight was the son of a lawyer. He attended high school at Cleveland High. Then moved onto the University of Oregon. In 1959 he graduated from college and enrolled into the Graduate School of Business at Standford University. He obtained a bachelor in accounting in 1959. In 1962 he received a MBA from Stanford University. In 1964 he began by selling sneakers in partnership with Japanese brand Asics, and then creates Blue Ribbon Sports with his coach Bill Bowerman. In 1971, Phil Knight created the name Nike, which symbolizes victory. The same year, a graphic art student, Carolyn Davidson designed the logo of Nike for $35. Today Nike Inc. is worth $15 billion.
