Slavery a Social Justice Problem
Social Injustice
Social injustice is when a group of people have control or power over a different group. Slavery is a social justice problem because the white people had control of black people when they were bought as a slave.

1619-first slaves were bought in America
1776-Declaration of Independence
1781-Slaves in Massachusetts sue owner for their freedom
1803-U.S. purchases Louisiana Territory
1820-Missouri Compromise
1860-Abraham Lincoln becomes President
1861-Civil war begins
1863-Emancipation Proclamation
1865-13th amendment abolishes slavery
How it Began
In 1625 23 African Americans were bought in Virginia and forced into slavery. 35 years later over 990 slaves were in the colony of Virginia. As time went on the amount slaves increased by over 25%. Slavery lasted for 245 years in North America after being abolished in 1865.
Modern Day slavery
In the middle east children are being forced into war by the age of eight. Forced into has been the recent struggle of modern day slavery. In many countries you are being born into a slave working family and the only way to get out of it is to run away risking being caught.
Conclusion
As of today we are still trying to end all slavery. Many laws have been passed to help prevent slavery. The Compromise of 1850 cleaned America of slavery, but in the middle east they still fight to end slavery.
