How it Began

In 1625 23 African Americans were bought in Virginia and forced into slavery. 35 years later over 990 slaves were in the colony of Virginia. As time went on the amount slaves increased by over 25%. Slavery lasted for 245 years in North America after being abolished in 1865.

Modern Day slavery

In the middle east children are being forced into war by the age of eight. Forced into has been the recent struggle of modern day slavery. In many countries you are being born into a slave working family and the only way to get out of it is to run away risking being caught.

As of today we are still trying to end all slavery. Many laws have been passed to help prevent slavery. The Compromise of 1850 cleaned America of slavery, but in the middle east they still fight to end slavery.
