About Renée & Artemisia
I have been a private piano teacher and music teacher for over 30 years. I have homeschooled both of my kids who are now grown and have careers in music. I have produced shows and productions in NYC and in Italy. In my years as a homeschool parent, I was musical director for the homeschool productions Oliver!, Yeast Nation, Candide, 1940's Radio Hour, cabaret shows and Renée's Soirees. My background is in Piano Pedagogy, Piano Performance, Music Education and Musical Theater. For my high school and adult students, I have hosted piano intensives and music retreats in Italy.
I have a Master's Degree from Manhattan School of Music and am on the piano faculty at the Westchester Conservatory of Music in White Plains. i am also a former pre-college faculty at Manhattan School of Music. My performing career spans venues in the US, Italy and Australia. I am a 2014 recipient of a Steinway Educational Partnership. Watching my students develop and grow into artists is something that I am very passionate about. There is much joy in spreading the healing gifts of music and I love watching my students venture into their own communities sharing their gifts and joy.

"Go to New York and pay the price-or come to Narnia for a lot less and get much more - for free. Two American directors brought in a host of talented Broadway performers. I was wowed. If you have a kid who is interested in musical theater, look up Matthew Surapine and Renee Guerrero." Joseph Gold
Artemisia LeFay is a classically trained cabaret chanteuse, variety performer, bellydancer, poetess, actress, and songwriter based in NYC and the Tristate Area with a passion for all things theatrical, vaudevillian, vintage, and avant-garde. Raised in the audition and dressing rooms of opera productions by her classical musician parents, Artemisia's affair with the performing arts began at an extremely young age. Her eclectic resume spans everything from producing cabarets at the Slipper Room to costuming for Off-Broadway productions and Company XIV, from acting in the New York Renaissance Faire to singing in concerts throughout Italy. Her original show Ghosts of Weimar Past made its highly successful NYC debut at Manhattan's own Don't Tell Mama in 2019 and has since made its international debut at Australia's Adelaide Fringe Festival, and to rave reviews. It received a 2021 Broadway World Cabaret nomination for Best Show and recently made its 2022 debut at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club in NYC.
“Ms. LeFay is classically trained with a fine rich mezzo that she employs with a purity of sound true to her training... at times; and like the women of her favorite era, the purity of Lefay's mezzo power will suddenly take a sharp left turn breaking away from making beautiful sounds in order to be realistic in a very underground way; exploring the heights and depths of what her very female voice can do.”— Broadway World
