Shout Outs
- B. Addy and her students for planning and organizing last week's used book sale which served as a capstone for their economy unit of study. Additional appreciation to their book buddies from J. Goforth's class for assisting with this effort. The media center was truly a buzz with Fox Cubs purchasing books at incredible prices. Real world learning experience coupled with social action.
- F. Myers for organizing our talent show 2019. Kudos to our 3rd-5th graders for being risk takers and displaying an array talents. It was a great show. Additionally would like to thank M. Davis for allowing 5th grade students for their upcycled fashion show. Students repurposed materials to design fashion wear.
- Coach Guerkink for planning and organizing field day 2019. Thanks to our faculty/staff and parent volunteers that contributed to the event. Our students seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
- S. Somerall for organizing our summer book giveaway. Kindergarten students are receiving 5 books while students in first through fifth are receiving 4 high interest books to add to their home libraries for the summer.

5th Grade Graduation
The time has come for us to usher our 5th graders to middle school. This was amongst the first of our current student body to experience shifts we made in becoming an environmental sciences magnet school.
Our fifth grade graduation is by far a single highest attended school event each year. We will have Richland County Deputy that will be across the street assisting with traffic from 7:00 - 10:00. I am encouraging our staff to utilize parking at the Bi-Lo parking lot to help alleviate limited parking spaces for our visitors. This is the first time that we have tried this in my 8 years as principal. This effort would help to reduce families/visitors from parking on the lots of our surrounding businesses while risking their cars may be towed.
This is one way we can exceed family expectations.
