Parent University: Chromebooks
Is your child receiving a Chromebook for the first time in District 204? Parents with children in kindergarten through second grade or who are new to District 204 are invited to join us for “Parent University: Chromebooks,” from 7 to 8 pm on Monday, August 31. This parent event will be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel and available afterward for on-demand viewing. Topics covered include an overview of Chromebook basic functions and Google tools students will use during the school year.
Materials Distribution Plan
UPDATE: The weather forecast shows possible storms tomorrow morning. We will send an email and automated call tomorrow if we need to postpone or reschedule distribution.
Materials distribution will take place on Tuesday, September 1st.

Kindergarten Orientation
We cannot wait to welcome our newest Patriots!
Kindergarten students will begin their full day schedule on Friday, September 4th.
How to “Arrive” at School on the First Day
Kendall students will use the Kendall Remote Learning site to “arrive at Kendall” on their first day and to “attend” all of their classes each day.
To access this site, students will:
1. Log-in to their chromebook (SSO if using a personal device),
2. Open google chrome (open through the SSO if using a personal device),
3. Go to bit.ly/KendallRemote,
4. Once on the site, find your grade level or program, find your teacher and click on the zoom link to “enter the classroom.”
For the start of the school year, we will use this site as our virtual school, anytime your child is scheduled for a class or a group with a teacher, they can go to that teacher’s “classroom” by clicking on their zoom link on this site. Please note, only students, logged-in with their ipsd credentials, will be able to access this site. We strongly recommend that you practice logging-in before the first day of school.
Prepare your device for the first day
Please read the excerpt from Dr. Talley's 8/31 Message to families:
I am asking for your help to ensure your child is prepared for class on Thursday morning. Please take a moment before Thursday to make sure their Chromebook is fully charged and they are able to log in to their student account. We encourage you to make sure their Chromebook is up to date. Information on how to update your child’s Chromebook is here. Updates may take up to 30 minutes, so students should not wait until Thursday morning to check their Chromebook.
We also have information on the School Readiness section of our website that you might find helpful related to technology, food service, and remote learning.
Child Care Options and Support
Just a reminder, information about childcare can be found at Child Supervision Programs. If you are in need of financial assistance, please contact our school social worker, Scott Atlas at scott_atlas@ipsd.org or our school principal Breah Jerger at breah_jerger@ipsd.org or call (630) 428-7100. It is important that you contact us as soon as possible.
Please let me know if you have questions.
